"Political facts" is an oxymoron, like "military intelligence", "religious truth", or "jumbo shrimp".:p

Or my favorite, "business ethics."

The site is out of the Annenberg Public Policy Center at UPenn. The information on the site appears to be well researched and balanced after an admittedly brief look.

Hello all.
For those of you interested, I found a Non-Partisan site for checking political facts and claims.
http://www.factcheck.org/
Yes, I read it frequently; may have posted that link here or there. :D
It has some interesting references. They should man that place 24/7 and post more:D Who said they have to sleep, at a critical time like this. Battle stations!

"religious truth" :p
Joe i have some religious truth for you, i believe even you can appreciate this:

1. Muslims do not recognize Jews as God's chosen people.

2. Jews do not recognize Jesus as the Messiah.

3. Protestants do not recognize the Pope as the leader of the Christian world.

4. Baptists do not recognize each other at Hooters.

True, but I also have a powerful detractor. With 174 thanks, I am supposed to be up to at least 5 or 6 "greens" by now.

I think most of those thanks were aquired while thanks were only worth 1 point so that would be about three chicklets plus whatever the rep points add up to.

Just in case you hadn't noticed, this is a pretty republican play ground. IMO. And most of the members thank God for their gear. :) You see what I'm getting at?

So if you act on the advisement of a liar, what does that say about you?

Really? I find it a little skewed to the left, as a rule. There's only a few Conservatives that I see here regularly. After all, we need to have some members who understand economics to explain it to the Democrats.:p

I don't think this is the source of Joe's particular issue. It may be the only issue Joe and I agree on. I've made it pretty clear that I don't think God exists either but never got negative rep for it. How can Christians punish us for non-believing. After all, they need people like us so they can feel better about their own beliefs.;)

BTW, I've only ever given out one red chicklet and that was to somebody repeatedly advocating something that was literally dangerous. I've never left Joe a steaming red chicklet in a burning paper bag on his front porch, then rang the doorbell and ran away. Nope, that wasn't me...not me at all...seriously.:D

I have to agree with Alex on this one. This place does seem pretty skewed to the right.
As for Economics, the last president who maintained a strong economy and a balanced budget was Bill Clinton. (He even left a surplus, which the Republicans promptly spent.) By contrast, it was Reagan who made homelessness common, and we very nearly had a second Great Depression quite recently as a direct result of Bush's idiotic policies.

That's what Alan Greenspan says too. But that was easy once Reagan won the Cold War. ;)
