Speakers for a girlfriend

My wife tells me there is no difference between a $200,000 stereo and a $20 one.

We all know what women want - DIAMONDS.

Most women don't care about stereo and speakers.

Definitely not WORTH buying a NEW system, unless it's a $100 system.:D

Not always true. I must be one of the lucky ones. :p

I don't know about that.:D

Since my wife can't tell the difference between an expensive system from a cheap one, I can get away with buying new things easier.:D

If my wife knows better, I wouldn't get away with anything.

For example. Say I bought a new Denon AVP-A1HDCI. She wouldn't have any idea how much it cost.:D She probably thinks it cost $400.:D

So what you're really saying is she doesn't have any idea how much money is in the bank and doesn't get a chance to see the credit card bills?

I will never know how witty it was or was not. Mazer is a permanent resident of my ignore list (along with BandPhan.)
Thank God I'm on the list. At least I have some good company with me. :D

How do you get on the list? Is it exclusive or something? ;)
Its easy. All you have to do is be a tool, a troll, or just a complete jerk.
(Hmmm, come to think of it...:D)

Well, she ended up getting the Alesis after all. Before I made my decision, I listened to the S30s again and was reminded how much I like them. Enough so that I want to keep them (if not as my full-time primary speakers, then at least as an alternative. If one accepts their unavoidable limitations (lack of strong bass and slightly weak dynamics), they are truly fantastic speakers in all other respects.
The good news is that she does not care enough about stereo equipment to ever know any different. To her, a stereo is merely an appliance, like a toaster!

If she thought that of appliances. She would have a rubber sex toy instead of having to deal with you.

She could even name it--Schmoe.

I know that the only reason you responded (and the only reason you respond to any of my posts) is the hope that curiosity will drive me to remove you from my ignore list to see what you wrote. Unfortunately for you, I am stronger than that.:)

Has she made any comments to you on how better they sound to her computer speakers?

Not by choice!
Hopefully, it will now be a long time before I change either one.:)

Joe,

I enjoy the expereince ,information and thread conversation you share. I wish you the best and hope both you gf and HT will not change for a long time.

P.S.- the gfs seem to stay put and not wonder off, when mounted on the Omnimount stands especially with the Cherry wood inlays :D
