Sony db940 amp front speaker issues

Hi...hope everyone is well...quick question guys...had my Sony db940 for 20 years now...I like the sound so not looking to change it...speakers are accoustmass bose surround speakers with sub...please don't judge me on my speaker choice...again I like their sound. Isdue is...takes around an hour now from turning on for the front speaker to kick in...is this normal or foes it just need a good air jet clean? Cheers

Doubt if blowing air thru it will make a difference. Sounds like it's dying...at a guess a bad solder joint or similar. 25 years for a unit like that is not horrible (hifiengine says these were made 2000-01). Not judging, but hard to imagine liking the Acoustimass stuff, got an early set of those and got rid of them fairly quickly. Changing the avr won't likely change the sound the Bose makes, tho.

20 years was a good run. Parts definitely not available for that, so may be time to upgrade unfortunately. Since it is destined for recycling anyway, you might as well pop the cover off and blow the dust out, but I also don't think that's going to fix it.
