No they will go under bed and a medium size rug to cover wires to receiver. Those aren't good. I never used monoprice speaker wires, just HDMI back in the day.
While I've run wire under carpet or on top where there's foot traffic I prefer having something like this. I've used the monoprice speaker wire 12g for several systems (the all copper type) and for quite a while, good stuff.

These sucker are thick Monoprice ain't playing. Just two screws were just a bit loose on the bottom base. Tighten enough to leave a bit of slack. Sweating my butt off. More to come.

Took a bit of work. 10 inches from the back wall and 5 inches from sides. These image so darn well. Singer is dead center. I played around with a Tony Bennett song Steppin out with my baby and put it in Neo surround and heard the Piano part behind my head, so cool. The rug fit perfectly under the dresser to under the bed. Not my normal chair to sit. The regular big chair is next to it, so you can see the just cleaned rug. Love is in the air with the 520s.

Doesn't help that the binding posts are on the bottom! 12g is what I use too, but I put nanners on mine because I'm always switching stuff around.
I have some plastics one, but didn't want to search. Probably better that I didn't use em.

Hooked up new adapter to the turntable and now stereo bliss. Eventually I will need a better preamp than the Pyle, but for now it works. Some Spyra Gyra(1980 MCA) for some listening test. Barely a pop. A- condition. Tears. :)

Hello!
I just joined the forum because I was searching for some info on my newly (yesterday) acquired JBL HP530s. And for 150€ I couldn’t be much happier.
But I couldn‘t find much info online so I thought I’ll try to chime in here.
I’ve read all answers and posts on this thread and learned a few things.
I’m by no means an expert. I’m a bloody beginner who likes good sounding loudspeakers, so I’d say I’m an enthusiast. :D

And now I’m trying to get the best out of these speakers. I already removed the drivers and after removing the low/mid driver I found some padding/stuffing (like wool) inside the chamber (?).
I removed it because when testing the speakers I found the bass to be less prominent than I’d imagine it to be. Esprecially considering the size of the speaker’s body and its 2x200mm woofers.

Does anyone know if the speaker’s „woofer chamber“ at the bottom is stuffed/padded originally?
Maybe one of its former owners opened it and put the wool inside to dampen the bass?

Thanks for any answers! :)

Found the answer myself!
There’s a russian YouTube video that shows the insides the of the speaker. It seems like there’s stuffing originally.

I should have listened to my mom whenever she said: ‚Think before you speak‘. :D

So what I’ve found out by removing every driver an the top plate:
There’s stuffing in every driver‘s chamber. Even though the woofer’s chamber is only stuffed at the very bottom. Other chambers are fully stuffed.
For people owning the HP530s like I do:
Removing the top is fairly easy by removing the glass plate with something like a suction cup. After that there’s 7 screws holding the the top.
Then you’ll see the woofer(s).

For the woofers I have to say that I’m not really sure what this concept‘s advantages are.
The drivers are mounted to together with what seems like a tube (I didn’t tear them apart).

If you’d like I could even upload some pictures of the disassembly and insides.

edit:
While browsing the internet I came across a German website which is called hifi-wiki. On the page for the HP530s there’s a link to another website which can’t be opened because the website‘s dead. But with archive.today I could open it and get some more info on the build and design/technical aspects of the 530s, so I just drop the link here for anyone curious:

If you’d like I could try and translate the pages.

I own and run 4 HP-520’s indeed the mid chamber is filled with acustic fill and the bottom is also the bottom woofers are arranged in a push - pull configuration . These are or where designed for European market built in Denmark for the German market . All the drivers were built on professional Audio designs and are very accurate I believe the drivers were sourced in France and Italian . This line was designed for digital media back when multi channel audio sound tracks were becoming more prominent. Think sacd . DVD audio , DTS cds and of course movie soundtracks . In my opinion and years of having them they excell in performance way above there design .

Thanks for your answer.

I think you didn’t see that I’ve edited my post just before you answered it, because I added some info.

As far as I’ve seen it seems like the HP530s woofers are placed differently than the ones inside the HP520s. The woofers of the 530s are oriented in the same direction whereas the ones on the 520s seem to be oriented in different directions.
I’ll add pictures.

Agreed the 530’s use only one mounted in the bottom this design was I’ve read is for the Asian market as well I’ve never seen any hear in the states . I’d like to see a picture of these assembled with the grill off if you could this appears to be mounted at the top of the cab ? I have seen European versions that had no internal woofers but mounted of the front baffle with a port below but still have the vented top too there are several versions of these and it depends on or did back then the market they were for not sure why .

The woofers are located at the top of the speaker underneath the glass plate.
They‘re assembled in-line so they are both pointing in the same direction.
I’ll try to take a pic in a few minutes.
