It reflects some deep misgivings about how far Trump and his henchmen will go to weaponize the justice system. Maybe other people Trump considers to be enemies should take heed.

After the US election there were some articles/YouTube on bulwark.com about people personally concerned just about Trump retribution, as I recall.

I wonder if Biden will give a more sweeping pardon to civil servants to help them avoid the coming Trump retribution, as have been speculated/wished by some talking/opinion heads.

I haven't looked into it, but on the surface it's odd to me one of Hunter's charges is possession of an illegal firearm. If that came from the Republican House, it's pretty LOL given their support of firearms. Seems like 'conspiracy to gain govt contracts' or something or other.

I watched a John Stewart video last night and he made an interesting comment- "Eleven years is awfully specific". What crimes did he commit eleven years ago that might cause him to be imprisoned and how serious were they? That hardly seems to be a case of "I'm only pardoning him for the crimes the general public know about".

Hunter lied about his drug use, which means he is guilty of a Federal crime. I wouldn't have as much problem if it had been less serious, but 'The Big Guy' lying about it for so long and then reversing? That's bad. Also, this was obviously during Biden's term, so we really don't need to see anything about weaponized DOJ.

It's not just about having a gun illegally, that's a separate crime- he lied on the FBI's 4473 form about drug use. Read the links I posted- this is shown in both.

From the bottom of the second link, "Hunter Biden’s defense team argued, unsuccessfully, that he didn’t view himself as a user or addict when he bought and possessed the gun. Defense attorney Abbe Lowell had implored the jury to acquit Hunter Biden on those grounds."

Who better to ask if an addict is an addict, if not the addict, himself?
