Not sure why but the hum is gone from the parasound amp to speakers... I hooked it up without the avr hooked to the amp and then back to the avr and the hum is gone. No idea why honestly!

EverettT:

The avr was hooked up to the Parasound amp with speaker wire to speakers. What does unhooking the amp from the avr do? I will try it now.
You need everything disconnected except the amp and the speakers... And then start adding to the AVR to amp, then one device to the AVR etc etc.. one at a time till the hum starts. Nothing connected anywhere before the first test of the amp and speakers.

I am almost positive it is the Crown amps. I will hook each amp up to a single surge protector and see if that gets rid of the hum but not tonight. See ya soon guys!

You need to think of this as a chain. Start with one piece then add more to the chain untill you find out which piece or pieces are causing issues. It's a methodical process.

No, still just more likely just a ground loop issue in your setup. Every electrical connection can introduce it (like your avr to amp)

Should I buy from here? I understand they're different products.

I am going to try this: Should I buy it from here?

You should start by following the recommended advice before asking if this or that works, just saying.

Also, good luck and I hope you nail it down, but I'm out at this point.

You really are a slow learner. You do NOT need to buy anything. You do not buy useless gimmicks to solve ground loop problems. Applied logic a few neurons and the odd synapse in that grey matter of yours is all it takes. No more posts of useless gimmicks please!
I think you tagged the wrong post, fyi...

I will take the adapter out of the mix if the Jensen thing works so no more chance of getting shocked.

Can someone help show me how to hook up the Jensen transformer since I have a mini dsp? I am not sure what cables go where...

Seriously, I have no life.

You really are impossible to help. You ask for advice, don't take it, then go off on your own notions. Your problem is a ground loop and they are solvable by logical deduction ALWAYS.

I honestly think that owning audio equipment is not for you.
