Think about what Darths Maul & Vader survived. A little light stabbing between friends is all good :D Dude also looks like the Grand Inquisitor from Rebels, so just as well for continuity.
I agree on the continuity part, but I suspect his "miraculous" resurrection was forced after they had shown the 2nd episode and someone pointed out their big mistake.

Also, I feel like I called that third sister would pull the old switcheroo. Amazing how that worked out.
You did call on it correctly, but the jury is still out if she's genuinely switched sides or not, in light of what she saw on Ben's holographic voicemail transmission recording, and Ben suddenly had a bad feeling about it. Vader's like - she tried to kill me, no big deal, as long as she's got solid information I could use. Right?

IMDb's show's page from 5/28 shows Rubert Friend (The Grand Inquisitor actor) shows 6 episodes, but today's version shows 4, not 6. Like Wiki, anyone could edit IMDb (I know I did), but those edits seem like they come from studios.

So Vader's pull was good for 1st ship, but not the second one. also where the heck 2nd ship is from? Then transport ship brought back Leia and Ben, the hangar was empty. Reva decided to attack waaaay too late. The Grand Inquisitor survived despite being stabbed in the stomach with a lightsaber?
The "comeback from death" was almost as good as the time Bobby Ewing came back on Dallas.

Heh, why does the light saber have a very short and defined length? Why can a light saber physically block another one?

And most important of all: Why was the ending of Battle Star Galactica so FUBAR?

It was all a Jedi mind trick! ;)

I'm largely satisfied.
Could it have been better? Sure. It could also have been much worse, too. Given the state of Star Wars on Disney thus far, I'll take this offering happily and keep hoping for better still.

Of what they got right, I am glad they did not shy away from some of the darkness. Vader walking down the street killing people is a moment that will stay.

What they could improve on is simply basic storytelling. While they got it out, you see it almost everywhere in any SW show. It's as if they have the vision and 20-40% of the story. Then they hope the action or special effects can close the gap.
Perhaps the only time that didn't come into play was in the Clone Wars animations. But those were short and succinct. They didn't need to have much more than a simple short story inside of a larger arc.
Here, what I feel was disjointed is the actual story of Obi-Wan. We know why he's there, and how the overall story led to the beginning of this little mini-series, yet there was not much in the way of development leading to the revelation he was "fallen" for lack of a better word. They set up elements that you could look at and see the why and how... but they could have given some set up. This would have made the other aspects of the story and character juxtaposition take shape in a more meaningful way.

If Boba Fett is a D after one season... perhaps a D+, Mando feels like a strong B after 2 seasons, this would have to be a C.

I really hope they can take Andor and Ahsoka to the next level.

For sure the climax fighting scene between Ben vs Vader is what everyone wanted to see from day one. It was great. I loved it.

Had they not made Ben look like a total loser the entire season, it would have actually been BELIEVABLE.

But for Ben to go from Zero to practically invincible this fast is ridiculous. They expect us to believe that crap? :D

After seeing how invincible Ben is fighting Vader, I wanted to see Ben kick all of the Inquisitors a$$, including Reva. Drive his light saber through all their guts. It’s okay, we now know they can’t die from a saber-through-the-gut wound. :D

For me, the main thing was that it kept me glued to my seats the entire season. Even though there are some serious plot holes, I was all in.

So worth it to see Ben vs Vader.

Interesting overview/opinion on Star Wars universe.

"But creatively, Star Wars is stunted by the all-ages approach. Disney, weirdly enough, can’t make a decent kids’ movie these days; at least not in this cinematic universe. But the answer’s always been staring us in the face. Every generation has a legend. There’s even a trace of this wisdom in the otherwise misguided meta-babbling of various characters in The Last Jedi. Let the past die. Kill it if you have to. That’s the only way to become what you were meant to be."

I do get everyones point Ben went from Olive Oil to Popeye almost as fast as it took for him to consume a can of Spinach. Understanding the light/dark sides of the force, he never lost his Jedi skills/power, but he lost his connection to the force.

  • The dark side (Sith) is to indulge in raw emotions such as passion, anger, and hatred. Darth Vader had a large pool of hate/passion anger to draw from. Equating that to home theater terms, He is uses a high quality power supply and is directly plugged into a large amp :)
  • The Light side is aligned with honesty, compassion, selflessness, self-knowledge and enlightenment healing, benevolence, mercy, and self-sacrifice. Obi-Wan is broken at the start of the series, so his power cord to the force is unplugged, or powered by an Onkyo receiver (JK)
Luke never lost his skills, he lost his connection to the Light side of the force because, he lost hope, had no compassion and self sacrifice was missing other than the kids. Understanding the story of this series, though not done very well at times, you can understand how he got his powers back. Leia opens up his connection to the force as you see him start to show the traits of a Jedi. His compassion for the people in the cave, self sacrificing himself to Vader to save the rebels, his connection the force opens up again and his power returns. (Jedi Viagra). You see him go back to memories when he is buried in the rock which drives his force powers.

Honestly, I give the series a C+, I did not like it as much in the beginning, but as the story opened up, it did regain my interest. I loved the Force battle at the end, and look forward to season 2.

I just finished the series last night. Overall story was garbage. The final fight/battle whatever you want to call it was good. I loved the Darth Vader scenes. Having DV in this series helped it immensely. I've always wanted to see Vader in his "younger" years. He moves a lot faster and is willing to kill/destroy anything if he has to. Too bad the show was geared towards kids and made by Disney. Could've been so much darker and violent.

There were so many plot holes. Ben should've be-headed the Inquisitor at the end. How on earth did she walk away from a light saber to the gut?? I'm pretty sure Leia's parents would've sent an army and not dug up and older Jedi who hasn't done crap for the last 10 years. Or you know, maybe hire better guards to protect their kid. Haha

Everything was predictable the entire time. I will still rate it a 7/10 because I enjoyed seeing Ewan M, Haden C and James Earl Jones return to their roles. Obi-wan vs Vader fights were good and seeing Vader be a total badass was great. Outside of that it was meh.

Definitely FAR FAR AWAY from being good. But it could have been worse - it could have been like "Ms. Marvel", which is for little kids who watch Mickey Mouse Club. :D

I say Vader saved this show. Without Vader, this Obi-Wan show would be total garbage. :D

100% agree that Vader saved this show.

I'm not wasting a single second on Ms. Marvel. Looks trash, from the trailer I saw months ago.

I don't have an issue with Ben regaining his powers from the FORCE in an hurry.

What most of us have a problem with is his sword/lightsaber fighting skills, which you do LOSE if you don't use the lightsaber for years.

I assume all Jedi have to train wielding a lightsaber like anyone would have to train wielding a sword. The Force can give them power, but the force isn't going to wield the lightsaber for them. :D

Another question - what kind of a Jedi Master would completely give up his training and be such a coward like they way they portrayed Ben in the beginning? :D

"Ambulance" is 200% better than "Ms. Marvel". :D
Haha! now the question is going to be "which will be worse? She-Hulk or Ms. Marvel?....." Two shows I will never ever watch. And can't believe they got made. Disney Trash! :D

Well, She-Hulk is a 37 Year old woman, so hopefully the target audience is for ADULTS, not kids under 10 years old like Ms. Marvel. No guarantees, but less likely to suck as bad. :D

IMDB Ratings for Marvel Series:
Loki 8.2
Wander Vision 7.9
Hawkeye 7.6
Moon Knight 7.4
Falcon and Winter Soldier 7.2

Ms Marvel 6.1 and Dropping like a rock off a cliff :D

This may require a certain amount [gobs] of suspension of disbelief, but Ben is trying to completely disappear. To not exist in the eyes of the Empire and Vader's Inquisitors. Where Yoda is inherently attuned to the Force, Humans are not. Along with this, remember the scene where the "anonymous" Jedi on Tatooine confronted Kenobi at night and asked his help, to which he encouraged said Anon-edi to go to the wastes and bury his lightsaber and just forget it all. ;)
Again, there is a strong element of required suspension of disbelief here. Kenobi was not, in the story, part of the old guard of Jedi Masters: he was but a Padawan when the prequels began and Anakin was still a little boy. That he quickly became one of the top Generals during the Clone Wars and closely associated with Yoda up until the end when they both sought exile as the "last surviving" of their kind is a part of the story.

I agree with what you said about training with a "sword" in that I have done so a while back but stopped. I now have little skill in wielding either of the swords (a Jian (double edged Chinese Longsword) and a Dao (Chinese Sabre), today, with which I trained.

The Lady and I are watching this now (her first run through). In e4, when the main ship lands, you can see the second ship inside the hanger.

As an aside... apparently gut stabs with a Lightsaber are survivable. If you follow the setup, Reva as a child was stabbed by Anakin when he and the Clones stormed the Temple... then the Grand Inquisitor, and her again later in the Kenobi story. *shrugs. Clearly if you want to do it right, you need to be a little more thorough with your technique and go for the major organs. Intestines don't count. (Especially considering the Lightsaber will instantly cauterize the wound, too! ;) )

Yeah, assuming the lightsaber instantly cauterizes the blood vessels and doesn't kill an organ (heart, liver, kidneys, lungs, etc.), I can forgive Disney. :D

I am sure most of us had great expectations of Obi-Wan and wanted everything to be good. That could only be possible if it were done by HBO, Showtime, Cinemax, Hulu, or some other companies, not Disney. :D
