Wave of immigrants, wave of COVID. Coincidence? YOU decide.

In case you missed it, the new wave is already starting. I posted those links to see if anyone was paying attention.
And in case you missed it, you may be conflating two entirely unrelated things.

Bidens handling of our Southern border is a travesty, but I doubt sleepy Joe or dipstick Harris really care ......

So, if people come through the borders and because the border patrol stops checking for diseases, the increase in cases it's not a coincidence? The two wouldn't be independent events. Easy way to check- add a short break in allowing people to cross to watch the case load and if it increases drastically, start testing.

I'm not a big fan of Biden at all. But there's no way to determine if lowering the restriction on Border crossings can be related to a change in Covid surges on any new wave

Just too many variables. International travel cruises are back up again. Lowering of mask mandates inner spread from big cities by the coast.

There's just a ton of issues that can affect spread.

I'm not saying that border policy on the South can't be an issue with spread its just very difficult to determine how much with all variables put into play

As a follow up on my today's 4th vaccine shot, I now have a slight pain when I raise my left arm toward my back, but no pain raising my arm forward. With my previous shots, I felt pain raising my arm forward though.
Interesting. Those smart nanobots felt for you so no pain to the front. ;) :D

Wife and I received the 4th Moderna shot yesterday, sore at the injection site. The wife experienced some muscle cramping…
Long as that muscle is not the heart, she will be fine. ;):D

Besides it's pretty obvious most big gov including ours have resigned themselves to further waves as long as the hospitalization and death rates are within certain parameters.

They kindoff have to I think public fatigue and voter blowback is kindoff forcing there hands

I'm personally a little more concerned about border security and integrity for other issues especially with our tensions with China and Russia right now not so much for Covid

I had the shot about 47 hours ago. At present, most of the discomfort is gone which means that by tomorrow, it will be history. With me, it takes 3 days to be free from pain. :)

the only place that was sore, was right smack on the injhection area. The shoulder , arm and everything else was fine. A day later soreness gone.
I thought I could just go in and get one without an appointment. Oh no, need reservation. One every 15 min. What? that is only 4 an hour?
So, made one and got it this AM. Had to ask when he will inject as he said time to go, you are finished. ;) Felt nothing. Perhaps
that is from the 3rd shot, made it permanently numb there. :D
But, will see later and the next few days.

I always got my shots in my dominate arm. It stays mobile and not hanging around to get sore.

Title 42 isn't scheduled to be rescinded/terminated until May 23, so I'd have to say that any increase in cases occurring now is not a result of nor is it coincident with an increase of Mexican immigrants.

Do you really think that a month & a half will make that much difference?

BTW- they're not all Mexican, they just come through Mexico.

How many new immigrants will be in contact with people who go on cruises? I'm gonna guess it's just about none.

All I'm saying is if we have another big wave how are you going to pinpoint it on one specific sector of issue. And how are you going to assess how much it was an impact. I'm not saying it can't be an issue but the way this thing likes to spread so fast with restrictions pretty much pulled back it's going to be hard to measure how much any one thing causes an impact.

Seriously, the US has been pretty much worst case scenario for spread of the disease within it's own borders and you're all worried about a few immigrants coming in possibly making things worse?

I think we as a country do a fine enough job on our own of making it worse and that any impact from Title 42 being rescinded will basically be lost in the noise.

a 'few' immigrants, LOL ! again, wonder what the ratio of illegals to legals is ?

Well, if the US would track their movements, it would be possible but at this point, they're not even interviewing the immigrants and I doubt they're screening for many diseases. That's just idiotic. I doubt the INS knows where most immigrants go after they enter.
