but I figured its worth to go to a better processor, separates, no?
No. Not necessarily.
This is one of the myths.
So much comes down to what you are doing, how you are implementing.
The new Denon AVRs measure insanely well and even can be used as a processor if you do not use any of the amps... you can go into full pre-out mode diconnecting the amp from the equation and get better measurements still.

Right. I was saying the new ones, x700 models, (and maybe the x600 models too) have this feature.

Economy of scale works to keep most AVRs less expensive because more are built and sold, so parts and labor become less costly.
The demand for processors is lower, fewer are built, parts and labor becomes higher.

If it still has the connections and features you need I don't see a reason to replace it just to go to a dedicated separate. So unless you need a newer feature or an update for connections I think it'd be a lateral move quality-wise.

Yeah, the 3600 (and by proxy the 3700) has the best low distortion measurements of many even standalone processors. That amp disconnect mode is a neat little trick. Plus you can turn on eco mode if just using it to process and it'll run much cooler without choking the power back.

So use my denon as the processor and just buy a amp?

I would, unless I needed the new features. Right now I'm using a Marantz SR6011 as a standalone processor for my Monolith 7. It's a 2016 model I think? If not it's 2015. It's Marantz's version of Denon's 3000 series with some minor differences. It's still up to date enough for me tho and does an excellent job. I'm not planning to replace it anytime soon either.

Just think of the speakers you can buy with another $4k...

I kid! Sorta, lol. I'm guessing the Premiers are starting to get into the point of diminishing returns. Meaning the more you spend from there the more incremental the improvements are.

Im not sure I even want to spend that on towers.
Im definitely a bass head and would rather put more money into subs rather than PROCESSOR or towers,

Hey man, multiple subwoofage can be a very worthy investment. 'Specially if you're a bass head. Get 4 of those 15s and your neighbors will have great bass too!

For that matter do you really need an amp that's only about a 2 dB advantage?

I just dont know if I have the placement or room for 4 subs though, so I may just end up with DUAL Monoprice M-15 V2 15in THX.

I have the Denon X4200w but I dont use it because I haven't completed my HT. I honestly bought it a few years ago and it just sat, but I figured its worth to go to a better processor, separates, no?
I used a Denon AVR as a prepro for couple of years with no loss of audio quality. I went with a Nord Class D which has switchable RCA and XLR inputs. So the RCA outs on the Denon will not require adapters to use the amp.
They are a classy company with prompt customer service and offer an inexpensive (<$20) option that will pay for your import fees and offer a U.S. service center.

Another option would be to go with the Denon AVR and only buy an external amp for your front 3 (LCR) and then use the AVR’s internal amps for the surrounds and heights. That would save you money you could invest elsewhere.

If you are still set on separates, Anthem may have all the bugs out of its AVM70 with its ARC beta room correction. It will likely test well based on the recent review of their AVR’s bench measurements.

This is probably what I'll do until I need to actually upgrade then get a dedicated PROCeSSoR. I do like the XLR outputs compared to RCA, I think they sound a lot better

Why? Not that it's not a good sub, but you get equal or better performance with Monoprice for less.

Just stick with Monoprice! If you really wanna spend a little more with what you save on a processor get a pair of 16s. Or hell... get a pair of these M-215s!

Just keep in mind what Shady said about having a dedicated line for each sub. Those have beefy amps and can draw a lot of power from the outlet.
