Why? Not that it's not a good sub, but you get equal or better performance with Monoprice for less.

Just stick with Monoprice! If you really wanna spend a little more with what you save on a processor get a pair of 16s. Or hell... get a pair of these M-215s!

Just keep in mind what Shady said about having a dedicated line for each sub. Those have beefy amps and can draw a lot of power from the outlet.
Ok thanks for all the help. I will go with mono price then,

I do like the XLR outputs compared to RCA, I think they sound a lot better
There is so little difference wrt sound quality between those connections as to be completely inaudible from one to the other. The only real tangible advantage with using XLR is if you have very long runs.

FWIW, I run 25' length RCA cables for my Sub past a Power Strip and along a power cable with no interference. My cables are the High Quality Subwoofer/Digital Coax from Monoprice.
Certainly, if you have Subwoofer XLR outputs from a Processor, then use real XLR Cables. Converting an RCA out to XLR in at the Sub will do nothing for you as one of the XLR Pins will be dead by virtue of the RCA cable only carrying the positive signal from source to end. (The XLR has the positive and inverted signal).

I've seen that they are now going to be sending components to repair at home... plate amp or driver as needed.
Not all companies are always easy to get solutions from.
If this is a turnoff, then choose to move on, but for some reason this is seriously the fifth time I've seen that brought up in 2 days.

Simply, they make a good sub. So does Rythmik, so does SVS... Monolith Subs are seriously crushing the testing and performance aspects.

Didn't that link get posted earlier? Either way it's an outlier and the situation was aggravated by the fact that he tossed the original packaging.

I already acknowledged the customer service aspect of it. Monoprice could do better for sure, but they do honor their warranties and took care of me with my amp, and it was my fault the amp died. I can't complain.

Can you link the cables you use?

and

I had a little trouble with my Music Sense setting waking up the Subs, so I add the splitter at the Sub In in increase the signal strength the Plate Amp was receiving.
Some claim this increases Sub Output as well, but when I ran Audyssey again, I did not have to adjust any settings because of the Splitter

The cables are basic RG6 Coaxial which defines an 18AWG conductor (Solid core Copper, here), shielding (dual), and a beefier insulation.

They are a little stiff, but other than that, they work great and do not cost an unreasonable amount.

Other Cables are often thinner Conductor or Copper-Clad Aluminum or even Copper-Clad Steel.
For a very short run, less than 10', it definitely does not matter. Getting longer runs and close to power cables can start to be a concern. So I just shopped smart and bought what I felt was the best solution in my system. :)

Looks pretty sweet, but I'm not the prepro guy. I think @ryanosaur and @PENG are pretty on top of the avp/avr world a lot better than I am.

Also what cable do you use to connect PRE TO AMP trigger 12v,
Most Trigger cables are simple MONO / TS 1/8" (or 3.5mm) phone plugs.
Some will work with stereo phone plugs. YOU HAVE TO RTFM or CHECK WITH MANUFACTURER.

I do not currently use Triggers. But any cable will work to transmit the low voltage signal. there is no sound quality involved, just buy the correct length you need if you want to run a Trigger.

Be careful, I have been warned that you should not daisy chain more than three items on a Trigger as it can fry the source component, and perhaps the components in the chain.

I find Music Sense works very well on my Outlaw Subs and Amps.

I am not familiar with Tone Winner and NEVER recommend being an early adapter.
Wait for reviews and user feedback or be prepared to suffer.
Of course, sometimes you get lucky and win.

and the amp

Don't forget class D! I'd look into one of those 3 or 4 channel Hypex amps too. ;)

I have that unit. It's a pretty bare bones unit, but it is also very budget friendly and a good way (IMO) to dip your toes into the world of pre pros. There is an entire thread for owners on the AVS Forums:

Some have reported a few issues with their units, and I've had a few minor issues with mine, but overall (especially for the price) I'm very pleased with it. There is a used one for sale right on for 1300$ Canadian on Canuck Audio Mart, as well I was going to mention that there is a set of Paradigm 700F and the 600C on Canuck Audio Mart as well.

Cheers.

What do you recommend?
Generally to just use the avr and only add an amp if it really serves a purpose. Maybe even just a more powerful amp if you do go that way.

Imo if you want to be in the svs ecosystem, the best value is the 3000 series. But the room is smallish, so to me, the PC4000 makes sense. the pc2000 pro is a great sub too, but considering self proclaimed bass maniac I think the mileage would be lower. Although with the smaller footprint and lower asking price, four would be pretty damn good.
I would NEVER give svs asking price for the 16ultra. There’s just better out there.
Sure the app is spiffy and convenient, but once you’re set, you’re usually set. And most people don’t realize that all the great customer service is provided my a majority of the customers, as a small minority ever have to get a new driver or amp or send a sub back for “free”. They used to lead in value. But imo, HSU, Rythmik, PSA and especially monoprice right now just offer better value. Although recent price hikes have changed the landscape slightly.
