Music Cast plus Crutchfield
Got my A4A in the end of December but could never get the Music Cast app to work. Called Crutchfield and worked with a technician for an hour and he gave up. Said he was stuck so they would just send me a new receiver when they come in in a couple of weeks. Wish I could have repaired it but that is the way to handle problems.

Yes ;)
I don’t think the amp can recognize what your speakers are. You have to set front height vs ceiling in setup.
I agree. Also you have to select if you are using Dolby Atmos enabled (dae) speakers.

I didn’t know if he meant the actual ceiling, or his in ceiling speakers. Lol

Lol

No actual speakers in the ceiling lol

I just checked with a friend who has 5.2.4 system and his ceiling speakers he can only aim the tweekers.

I can aim both. So I think everyone is saying aiming both tweeter and woofer is better

Yes. Imo both is better. I haven’t aimable tweeters to be useful, and can potentially do more harm than good.

So you have upfiring? Or IC? Asking for a friend!!!

For those of you with ceiling Atmos speakers. Do you have the tweeter and woofer aimed towards the main listening position or the woofer pointing down and the tweeter aimed?

I have just my tweekwr aimed, but not sure if I should aim both?!
Mine are all aimed straight down.

Interesting. Now I don't know what to do. Ahhh

I have in ceiling fyi
Ok. IC.

Acudeftechguy also has 14’ high ceilings. Imo, you should definitely aim them towards the LP. Imo, speakers usually sound best on axis, and iirc(based off of my fuzzy brain cell lol), your ceiling is too low to try straight down. Try it both ways and see.

Wow 14 foot ceilings wow! I want to see a pic of his set up!

I called my a/v store and talked to the installer and he said to aim both.

What about using something like Prime Elevation or Kef Q50a mounted to the ceiling aimed at the MLP? That isn't what I do, but why not?

Plus! @AcuDefTechGuy has 15 Subs in his setup. Yeah Andrew, photos! We want photos! :D;)
Damn, I have 2 12 inch subs! I thought about getting the 15s but I was maybe not going to have enough space. My 12s shake the house anyways, doesn't make the wife happy lol. So for night time viewing I have a scene set for no subs and then towers set to large

Imo 14’ is too high but hey, we got what we got!
My custom built room was based on the Audio Engineering Society (AES) room formula of 1H:1.57W:1.87L, which translates to 14'H x 22'W x 26'L.

Do those AES people know what they are talking about? I don't know. But I listened to them anyway. :D

Also, my previous HT room had a 14'H ceiling and everything sounded awesome, so I thought maybe high ceiling was a good idea (except for when changing light bulbs :D).

But is 14FT ceiling a good idea for Atmos? Well, if you are able to get excellent sound from those ceiling speakers, then the 14ft ceiling doesn't matter.

I think listening to them was the right thing to do. But correct me if I’m wrong. Wasn’t your room built pre-Atmos? My comment was regarding post-Atmos placement. Big picture? Turn it up! Let er rip tater chip.

Well, I think I've posted too many pictures of my room, so I don't want to overdo it. But here are some pictures of the Yamaha A-S3200 Integrated Amp that I got for a client. He wanted to test it out and listen to it in my room. :D
