Seriously, I have no life.
The NATO members Poland and Romania share borders with Ukraine.
Yes, but. I would imagine they have contact with the Ukraine military to come and get it at the border? Here we are with your arms? Then a trip back to the battlefield.

People have the option to change the channel.
Multiply his millions of followers by .4 and that equals the number of Democrats who watch his show.
There are other hosts on at 8 pm...
Que terribe mal !
1-.4 = .6 conservatives? + 100% major conservative news source = conservatives < liberals = throw in trash and recalculate till positive conservative ratios. Hehehe. :)

I could be wrong but back in my day, using your formulation, the result should equal, conservatives > liberals, no?

I know they had nukes but their power pale in comparison to whats available today. It still doesn't take away from the fact that you cannot enter this war half cocked and that NATO made one of the worst strategic errors by not letting Ukraine into NATO. Can you look at the bigger picture instead of being nit picky.
If this link is accurate, Ukraine isn't in NATO because of several agreements made between the West and USSR/Russia. Someone who's more familiar can verify or correct if needed.

The first agreement was made with Gorbachev but apparently, that agreement was broken 14 times already. So instead of helping out Ukraine at the beginning of this BS and breaking the agreement one more time, they let the envitable happen. Its a tactical blunder on NATOs part.

All due respect to the Foreign Minister who wrote this article, but he states:

"At a summit in Bucharest in 2008, NATO made clear that Ukraine and Georgia will become NATO members one day. The alliance also supported both countries’ applications for Membership Action Plans (MAPs) and agreed this would be the next step towards eventual membership. "

That NATO summit was critical. He didn't give important background on the divisions in NATO that gave the Ukraine the push off. At that 2008 summit, the US (Bush the younger) with Poland's backing wanted both the Ukraine and Georgia to become NATO action plan members. France(Sarkozy), Germany(Merkel), and the UK(Brown) blocked or opposed it citing timing issues and raising doubts behind the scenes about their readiness. Merkel was especially vocal about it.

Putin attended that summit as a guest and before he left for Moscow stated, "that NATO's further enlargement by Russia "would be taken as a direct threat to the security of our country".

That summit took place in April, Putin invaded Georgia in August. In a nutshell, Putin gave a warning about NATO expansion, the US did nothing (the Bush Presidency was winding down), the rest of Europe did what they always do, disagreed with each other and did nothing. The same reaction as to Crimea in 2014.

Another reason why not Ukraine is the corruption in government there, or something like it is what I heard several times being mentioned.
And here we are no matter what the history is, where do we go from here?

And why in heavens would we ever invade Russa out of a whim? Energy?
Or, they just fear becoming a democratic state and the people choose in credible elections.

I think Putin sooner or later is going to have trouble in his own country with the young generation that is against any war. I just hope they give him so much trouble that he might abandon his insistence in expanding his territory.

For sure that NATO have contacts in the Ukrainian military, so weapons will get to the battle field after being picked up at the border.

To avoid direct contact with Russian forces there won’t be any airlift into Ukraine.

I've seen talk about the "Republicans, Trump and conservative media" supporting Putin (mostly on these pages). Can you point to any actual examples of them doing so? Of course, their opposition (democrats, most of the media) will say so, but I mean direct quotes and such. Now, there has been plenty of well deserved ridicule for the current administration (I have supplied some of it myself) but criticizing HPiC Biden is not the same as supporting Vlad the Elder.
I don't want to go into this in depth it will derail the thread. Perhaps a new thread on the subject perhaps a thread challenging democrats to prove what Gene said that the majority of the Republican Party media etc support Putin.

It will go off the rails but will be interesting have good conversation at first but won't derail this thread.

But I promised you I'd provide links and an answer so I'll do my best being as brief as I can

This is just one of many and there not all with Tucker.

But the tone was and is consistent among all of them. (We should stay out of it. We should respect Russias sovereignty we shouldn't commit Troops onto this conflict "(which Biden has said he won't do mind you)". America being the police force for Europe will just do us more harm. The risk to our economy from inflation. Ukraine didn't respect the sovereignty of 2 factions in there country and did the same thing to them somehow implying that that makes it okay for Russia to do it too. Basically a tone among some right wing media and conservatives that rings of the isolationism ideas that held America back from acting in the previous great conflicts until they were pulled into the fight

Do I agree with everything @gene said not exactly. He's right about Right wing politicians and media they were saying this. BUT I don't believe the true average Republican voter feels this way.

Just like they didn't agree with policy on Covid or Trumps theatrics about bullsh$t elections. It took Republican support to give Biden the numbers he had in the last election. And I know a lot of Repubs who don't agree with the choice Putin made to go to war. Keep shi$$ing on Republicans and you risk losing that support if dems keep comparing a true conservative with these new radical right Trumptards that have sprung alive the last few years. I mean is it fair to compare a far left radical woke progressive with a true liberal? No of course not.

1) right wing media and politicians need to quit the disenginuity because they were saying this sh$t then switching conveniently over to putting it all on Biden after Putin made his choice by committing war. Now they want to be all in based on the sentiment of average people and the world and to that I call bullsh$t on the right.

2. This isn't a left or right thing anymore and Biden is in an incredibly difficult position considering a big chunk of it was egged on by Nato. Nato pushed and I do believe on certain issues blundered on how far Putin was willing to go on these issues. But that can't all be put on Biden like some Repubs are trying to do. And it doesn't matter anymore Putin has pushed it past that. His policies and China's by proxy need to get dealt with.

3. As much as I hate Democrats going to Trump as there default to avoid policy questions I hate even more the hero worship some parts of the Republican base gives this guy. They act like he's the second coming of Jesus Christ.

Trumps such a fu$%in idiot his comments on Putin being another example of a long list of infractions. And I GET what he was trying to do. Call Biden out on weak sanctions that weren't going to work against an obviously smart savvy and dangerous opponent. But could you start that off with a disclaimer please? Like Putin is 100% out of line and I stand against him but here's the point I'm trying to make. But no he cant because of his many faults with ego and common sense. Trump just makes it SO EASY to take the things he says out of context which makes it harder for the rest of us conservatives to spin damage control. These reasons make him unfit to me to be an effective president to be MY president

Instead he does what @Alex2507 was saying awhile back. Can you show respect to your enemies capabilities without making it sound like your polishing off his knob in the back room?

I'm not saying that's you @John Parks I'm just making my points and expressing how I feel

I'm sorry for the length. This is a difficult complex situation to try to answer it all in short form on this format style on this forum

It's the Steam Vent where topics not related to Audio/HT can be discussed. That's a lot of possible topics, including this one. If you want to avoid the topic, do. not. click. on. it.

It's that simple, really.
