Based on that I'm not to concerned for my A8A, but I am really intrigued if the improved secondary DAC improves those issues from the A6A :) Enjoying it for movies. There have been multiple times when I've literally left my chair looking around my home for a sound that was from a show I was watching. Happened in the Witcher, Dune, and watching Sully :D :)

I am almost sure (90% chance I am wrong ;) ) that the difference between channel distortion comes from different DAC architecture... ESS9007 vs ESS9026Pro

I'm half expecting an A8A to end up on Amir's bench soon. That will be be the more telling scenario.

This could also be alcohol or drug induced.... :p
Nope haha, do not use substances (very low on alcohol) due to some medical stuff. I upgraded to 7.1.4 at the same time. Episode 2 of the witcher has a chittering sound at one point that really fooled me lo.

Well, hard to say for sure but Yamaha claims that the 7 bed channel of the A6A are power by ES9026PRO (this includes the C, SL, SR channels) while only the presence speakers are powered by the lower ES9007 processor.

Just read the review, all the fuss for nothing.
Damn man, you beat me to the scheduled release for tomorrow.

There are some pretty significant things that need to be addressed and Yamaha is already planning changes in the next gen models as a result.

I'm mostly hoping they sort out some of the bugs (DD+) and are able to get the new HDMI 2.1 features working well. Sounds like that keeps getting delayed. Anyone know if HDMI forum released a testing spec yet?

I first saw it this morning on the new Class D Amp thread.... ;)

This!
I get that it may not be audible, but for over 2-Large, even these issues are unacceptable. It will be very interesting to see how Yamaha responds in their refresh and when it happens. Are they going to release a revised AVR next year? Or 2023?
*shrugs
We'll see what happens, I guess. ;)

Yeah, I'm really worried that I'm gonna hear noise from my Center, SL, SR at 0.05 THD. :D
