I should find something soon ... always looking
Me too. You know, you're partly my inspiration for this thread. I'm just out to experience as many different speakers as I can and not spend a ton of money doing it. I really have expanded my speaker vocabulary since the start of this thread.

And you most likely get a fancy crossover with one cap on the midrange and one cap on the tweeter
Aren't 1st order crossovers the best anyway? TandyCorp was just ahead of its time!

The 1st Order filter has a 6dB/octave slope which is often too shallow to prevent tweeter distortion within the crossover stopband (attenuation range). That is why most loudspeaker manufacturers use higher order crossovers.

Damn, Pogre, you should give these a listen:

$1200 is a steal and they will not last long at that price. I'm a fool for selling mine.

I see VS speakers a lot on Craigslist. Those ones aren't too awful far for me, but not exactly around the corner either. What did they retail for new? What do you think my chances would be of reselling for a profit? What are the chances I might like them better than my Sierra ribbon towers..? So many questions, lol. Thing is, I have that in cash, on hand right now. I also have a wife who knows where I keep my gun and knows how to use it... lol.

*PS- They do look like substantial speakers, and pretty much designed to be passive bi amped.

Boston VR30 and Micro ... and MB Quart QL are good deals
What did you think of the ones you heard? Those MB Quart I remember you had the top series that you sold. He's a bit far for the C50, but I'm curious as heck.

I wanna get my hands on some MB Quart speakers. They were really popular among car audio enthusiasts when I was into that. Unfortunately the only MB Quarts I've found to date are these ones...

Mine were high-end ... one of the best I have owned ... the QL C50 are small, so may not be worth the ride, but MB Quart tends to be clear, open, and robust sounding
