Admit they were wrong? Lord no, they'll just get him on something new that magically absolves them of any negligence on their part.

The GOP members of Senate quite simply does not have the moral character, much less a backbone, to impeach Trump. By now that should very clear, I think.

If Trump is re-elected, the only way he could be removed from office would be if both the House and Senate are Democratic. Remember, it requires a two third majority in the Senate, 67 votes, to remove a president. That's never happened in US history.

It is said that Nixon would have been removed, but he resigned before that could happen. In 1974, Democrats were the majority of both the House and Senate, but I don't remember the size of their majorities. Those articles of impeachment had already passed the House Judiciary Committee with 7 out of 17 GOP members voting to approve at least some of them. The House would have certainly approved the articles of impeachment, with or without GOP help.

67 votes in the Senate would have required GOP votes. What convinced Nixon to leave immediately was when the GOP Senate Minority Leader said he couldn't guarantee that enough GOP Senators would vote against his removal.

Now it does have a large sample size, but 28% of blacks really seems high. More polls in the next couple weeks should show if it's an outlier or a trend.

The first report I saw of this showed 32%, but I find that to be really high, even with the number of people in local news who are Black and making positive comments about him in public statements on the news.
