We're in the middle of the 2nd floor in a 3 story condo. That's more than enough sub for me and at least a few neighbors. I ended up powering up each driver with a Marantz MA500. My bass management happens in the Blu-ray player for movies and in the rec'r for regular TV content so there are two distinctly different settings for subwoofer trim (that's what they call it, right?). TV sub output is about 6db lower than the rest of the speakers and movies get a level matched signal ... and the whole thing runs of a switched outlet so it is shut off completely until I actually want to use it: never after 8:00 PM. It's a lot of sub.
