What are you watching tonight?

I watched Cliffhanger and Blade Runner 2049. They were both movies that had good Atmos action. I've ordered Boheminan Rhapsody; read that the movie uses the heights quiet a bit. I also have Hunter Killer on the way. I plan to buy Pacific Rim this weekend

You guys REALLY want to give your heights and subs a workout? Check out San Andreas. No matter your opinion on the movie itself, you'll hear the glass shattering overhead and you'll feel the tremors like you're there. It's pretty bonkers.

Also agree on Pacific Rim. That's a good speaker (and HDR) workout for sure!

I thought San Andreas has a lot of bass, but I couldn’t hear that much overhead - at least the first 20 minutes or so.

In Pacific Rim, I could hear just about everything that was overhead.

Besides the Orville and BBT I always watch Inside the NBA on TNT with Chuck Ernie Kenny and Shaq - some of the most entertaining sports banter on TV.

You want to workout those Atmos speakers, watch Pacific Rim 2013 in Atmos.

Also Cliffhanger and Blade Runner 2049 in Atmos.

I've only seen about 15 minutes of Mad Max Fury Road, but it seems like another Atmos workout. :D
Blade Runner (new one) in Atmos is easily my top 5 of best sound mixes for the format.

American Gods came back for Season two minis few big stars and two of its original showrunners.
Mixed feelings for now, for once they clearly explain the story and it's much easier to get what's going on the screen (mostly) but missing the original twisted charm I guess. I will give it a few more episodes before I make up my mind.

Earlier today - Kenji Mizoguchi's "Sansho the Bailiff":

At times gut wrenching. Excellent film. The movie ends on the 'high note' of shared despair and loss.

Being out of work for a few days (sick), has given me some time in the afternoon to watch a few movies this week. Today:

Takashi Miike's "13 Assassins":

Absolutely classic chambara film. Miike hits every beat: cast, script and action all deliver.

TPC (The Players Championship) golf tourney in northeast Florida. Great looking golf course. Also mixing it in with the NCAA basketball college conference tournaments. What a great weekend for sports and setting up for the big daddy - March Madness!

I was thinking of the next episode of The Grand Tour Season 3, but it's not posted on Amazon Prime yet. So I'll have to get my car fix with "Bullitt", starring Steve McQueen. One of my fav's.

Re-watched this evening.
Did you watch it with DTS:X? WOOOWEE! Toward the beginning with that missile flying in from behind. WOW! Really showed off what the format can do. That movie has some really enjoyable audio.
