Oh. You're right. But this brings up another discussion, one I know will not be popular. In cases where a song writer can't sing worth a poop but still grunts through a mic anyway (Cohen, for example, or Bob Dylan for another),can it really be called a cover when an actual vocalist grabs hold of the song and performs it for the first time? There's a difference between performing and reciting on pitch (or off, as is often the case).
I will concede that considerably more people have heard of Leonard Cohen and Bob Dylan than have heard of me, though. The socially awkward neckbeard in me struggles to understand how singers who can't sing can fill concert halls. I mean, who pays money to hear Meatloaf?
