Right right. But, keeping records from the 1980's? Doubt that I would ever need them now. Should have lightened that load a long time ago. It is amazing some of things one can find when he moves. I do agree 100% moving absolutely SUCKS! :):):)

Cheers,

Phil
You know now that you mentioned old med records your 100% right just went to my Doc a few weeks ago took some med records with me about 10 or so years old it was of a smack test that’s what they call it blood work is used to find numbers on everything. Yeah it is amazing how much or shall I say how fast technology evolves. Nothing wrong with that in my book. It is always good to be well informed with whatever medical issues we are facing. Seen enough doctors/surgeons lately to last me a lifetime if you know what I mean. ;););)

Mike I have records dating back to the 1980's! I am like what in the heck am I thinking? Got to get off of the ole arse and get rid of stuff like that. Plan to do just that as soon as I can. Right now, I am just blowing caution to the wind as I am so worn out. But, no rest for the wicked! :):):)

Cheers,

Phil
Yeah, I made sure to get rid of all those old useless records when we moved. We also sold most of our furniture so we could buy new.

We STILL had 4 of the largest U-Hauls full of stuff. That's not including the stuff that went into the back of trucks.

Emotional support animals. On airliners especially, but recently I'm seeing them in supermarkets. If you fly on Southwest, the preferred airline for people cheating the disability laws due to their open seating policy, it seems like almost every flight has dogs in the bulkhead seats. Dumbest law ever, abused by selfish and dishonest people. And if you really need an emotional support animal, and without exception every one I've seen accompanies a woman, my only thought is Woman Up or stay home. But more realistically, just grow yourself some honesty, accountability, and pride.

This!!!
Just an excuse for people to bring their stupid dog everywhere. Same ones who don’t use pet carriers in their cars too. I enjoy dogs. But I don’t need to deal with them out public. Grow the F up. Try an escort...

Emotional support animals are not trained and as far as I know, are not sanctioned in any way (at least what people try to pass off as emotional support animals). I've actually noticed lately a lot of companies posting signs stating that emotional support animals are not allowed along side their service animals allowed signs. I appreciate that. I think it is great. CA law states that animals are not allowed anywhere where food is served or sold for obvious health reasons and I see people bring dogs into the supermarket all the time. My daughter works at a store and she said the company's policy is not to say anything to them unless the animal causes problems.

I love dogs. I know a lady who trains service dogs for veterans and it is the best thing ever. The people who go out in public and just want to bring their dogs because they think they own everything and they are god's gift, and you know the ones we're talking about here, are just selfish, stuck up @ssholes.

My GrandMother had this ole saying, never bring home something you gotta feed and can’t eat or plant anything you can’t eat. As you would guess they where Farmers way back before I was born. Love dogs, cats, service dogs are a wonderful thing for the blind. I have been in friends homes you walk in the smell is awful! dog got the owner picking up turds house smells like piss. Dog, cat hair everywhere’s they go he/she is family. Living with animal feces to the point of liking it? person need meds in my book. Snake lovers are among some of the worst that I have seen.
Wasn’t there a story a while back about this woman who raised a chimpanzee a little monkey. She use to bath with it sleep with the animal and who knows what else. Animal ended up ripping her face-off had to have a face transplant something like that. Guess she got all the emotional support she needed.

I am merely doing the same thing. Got a lot of stuff/sh*t organized today and put away. Hope to get the bigger items on Sunday morning if all goes to plan. Then, it is going back to my former place and getting it all cleaned up. Need my deposit back......LOL!!! Moving is certainly expensive. :):):)

No kidding, but if/when I ever move again I'm going to make sure I've got the cash to have someone do EVERYTHING for me. Takes too long to get everything packed...

Yeah the older I get I could not agree more. Get it all in a single trip and be done with it. But, still have to put it all away. Plus, all of the packing before the move. Either way it is still a lot of work. Most movers here charge way too much if they have to also pack it all up. I admit I am rather spent......LOL!!! But, hey it could always be worse. Counting my blessings as we speak. ;););)

Umm 4 U-haul trucks or more, all in one move?
4 or more drivers plus movers Insurance cause something will get broken. Than it’s who you can trust. Getting old really is a blessing in my book, dealing with age is a whole different story. As a young man doing some of the things that young men do knowing how much you put your body through would have not done some of the crazy things I did. They say hindsight is 2020 true statement.

4 drivers would have been awesome. Sadly it was multiple trips. Driving down I35 (for those that know) pulling a 6000lb vehicle with a gas motor uhaul that is full was all sorts of fun. I'm lucky enough that one of my friends made the last trip.

Here in NB there are so many people moving in that getting a storage unit is next to impossible. I had to store stuff in my brother in law's house for the month they were completing our house.

I just changed the batteries on 3 smoke detectors… and now I HATE THEM! One detector started chirping – it's battery was running low. So I ran out to the store and got 3 new 9v batteries (their price is another thing to hate, but I won't go there).

I got these smoke detectors several years ago primarily because they could detect smoke, carbon monoxide, and natural gas (my old ones only alarmed on smoke), but also because they had pull-out drawers for the battery. How nice, I won't have to remove them from the ceiling to change the battery. WRONG! The plastic drawers had nasty catches on them to prevent easily pushing them back in. I had to remove the whole smoke detector just to see why closing the battery drawer was so damn difficult.

Removing the detector was the easy part. Getting the drawer to close was harder, but re-attaching the detector to the ceiling was a bitch. I had three to do. You'd think that would be enough to figure out the trick to easily re-attach them. NO! Each one was balky & difficult.

So there's yet another Chinese conspiracy to disable the West! First deliberately design their export stuff so poorly that the parts almost fit together, next make the directions impossible to read or understand (you need both a microscope and a Chingrish translator), and finally sell them for anything but cheap.

There, [RANT OVER/]. I should be thankful those smoke detectors use 9v snap top batteries, and not those pitifully weak AAA batteries. Then I'd be changing them every 4 months instead of every 4 years.

about 2 years ago the landlord (the multi-billion dollar conglomerate which owns this apartment complex as well as several others plus a major shopping center) upgraded the complex from "analog" to "digital" thermostats. I've been replacing the batteries like clockwork every few months. The landlord must have stock in Duracell or EverReady or every other AA battery company.

I hate that no matter how often I go through closets and throw crap away, I still manage to accumulate soo much nonsense. And dont get me started on the garage. I have no clue where or what half this stuff is/came from.
I should note that I took over a closet just for a/v gear. The wife just loves it...

I put new AA batteries in my digital thermostats once every 2 years. They actually seem to work well. I thought about them when I was dealing with those smoke detectors. They're something I can't complain about.

Mine are Honeywell (model RTH7600) and are made in China. What make thermostat do you have?
