Pogre,

you will also need an automatic source selector (as mentioned in the OP). Unless you have a receiver (as mentioned in the OP) or alternative way to accomplish the described setup/design.
If I had a source selector I'd try it. I'd try it because I'm willing to put in the work and research to determine if something will actually work.

In what setting or situation would this possibly be beneficial? You've mentioned "the average user" a few times. How many "average users" are gonna go get a channel selector, buy additional cable and rearrange their whole setup to do this? Half the time we can't get someone to point their speaker in the right direction, let alone complicate a setup like that.

So far, close as I can tell, it might benefit anyone off to the side, but degrades for the rest.

Get someone to point their speakers in the right direction Lol........that's a good one.

Pogre,

Even a single person sitting directly in front of the screen benefits from "at least" an alternative "useful" speaker configuration and experience. The setup/design in my OP allows you to alternate and enjoy your speakers in various ways. Also, by alternating through the various "useful" configurations afforded to you via this setup/design, one maybe realizes, enjoys, distinguishes and appreciates the benefits of each configuration "refreshed" by not getting stuck in any one particular listening experience "ghetto").

Fine. Don't answer my question. BUT, you need to explain how these "useful" options play along and maximize the coding built into the media. Just placing them and wiring them in a way that's NOT by design does NOT make this viable. Why does every person in front of the screen benefit from a useful configuration(the one you've proposed)? Please explain why they're useful. Btw, the reason the "particular experience" works is because that's how it's designed!!!

Question, are any of you affiliated with this website (editors, publishers, etc.) or is everyone simply a user/blogger?

I knew it!!! Trying to get a J. O. B.
Will you answer? How is the configuration useful? I.e.: does it provide spaciousness, imaging, loudness, fetch a beer, work better with surrounds, secretly designed by marantz??? What is it's usefulness?

I think I'm starting to understand. We've been reading it wrong. He's not suggesting a useful speaker configuration. What he's suggesting is a "useful" speaker configuration, with the distinction being the addition of suspicious quotes. "Useful" in this case is intended to imply sarcasm. Any time you see quotation marks from @DCS0760 it will help interpret his intended meaning by inserting "supposedly" wherever he embellishes random words with suspicious quotes, and then snicker behind your hand. It makes so much more sense this way.

The setup/design in my Original Poster allows you to alternate and enjoy your speakers in various ways. Also, by alternating through the various supposedly "useful" (*snicker*) configurations afforded to you...
... one maybe realizes, enjoys, distinguishes, and appreciates the benefits of each configuration supposedly "refreshed" (*snicker*) by not disparaging a race of people through casual misuse of a pejorative term applied to a low-income community etc.
See? Isn't that easier?

Rojo, you are a genius. Can't believe it took 6 pages to crack his code. Wish I could find my decoder ring. Would've save a lot of typing on my phone.

Am I too late to *say * HUH? I've tried to read thru the 6 pages and all I can say if one has a correct center channel for the application, end of discussion. Maybe if your run the center channel preout to some nice cans, that will achieve that mystical Sound. You might miss out on LR, surrounds , and to some degree the sub, but hey that center will sound awesome.o_O
