You know all of us here have seen thousands of movies. And I can tell you that "I Frankenstein" is better than most movies I've seen. :D

I think the most important thing about any story (movies or TV shows) is the characters. If I can relate to or feel sorry for or cheer for the characters, then the movie is good.

I've seen so many movies (Star Wars I, II, III) where I couldn't even care less if all the characters died in the movie. :D

Even in some movies like The Amazing Spiderman, I couldn't get myself to even care for the characters. :D

I didn't care for a single character in "Ender's Game" and most movies I've seen.

So character development is the most crucial to me, and I think "I Frankenstein" has good character development and very solid acting. The only negative thing I can say for this movie is the plot hole. But overall, it does many things right, including character development, acting, action, awesome special visual effects, and awesome sound effects.

C'mon man.. I can sse right through your disguise of character development. You like it just fine for the eye candy and the way it makes your Funkie's sing!! ;) Just yanking your chain.

Actually I hear you. I bought "The Legend Of Hercules" and although the affects are good and its bass heavy, I think the movie sucked.

Talking about character development, plot, climax, resolution, setting, antagonist, protagonist, etc. puts me on the edge of losing my man-card. :D

I better tone it down. :D

Yeah, "300 - Rise of an Empire" is 100% better than Hercules. :D

Phew that was a close call LOL

I should rent 300 and see if I like it...Just not into detailed scenes of Gore
I will say this. I would have liked "300" a lot more if I had known about "300 - Rise of an Empire" at the time I saw the first "300". :D

The hero/protagonist of "Rise" is Themistocles, who was not only a bad a$$ warrior like king Leonidas, but also a genius. Talk about brains and brawns. I love this movie so much more than the first "300" movie. I will get "Rise of an Empire" for sure. :D

It's kind of funny how the sequel actually enhances the enjoyment of the original - at least for me. When I watch the original "300" again, I know the death of the 300s was all part of the plan. :D Themistocles knew that it was a necessary evil for unification.

I'll stay the course. I'll get it from Netflix in a few weeks and if it impresses me, I'll get it for $10 in a few months, Like "Man of Steel". :D

Rented it on Vulu, which I tend to do for movies I know are not going to be too good, but would like to see. At least Vulu is 1080p w/7.1 and I have to say the movie was OK. I am a big Yvonne Strahovski fan as I own all of the CHUCK blu-ray seasons. (now Netflix) Her part is actually rather small.

Fun movie, one I am glad I spent the $ on rental.

Yeah, it's not "The Godfather" or "The Shawshank Redemption". But I can see myself re-watching "I, Frankenstein" a lot more frequently. :D

And in terms of plot and acting, there are much worse movies out there.

Me too. Enjoyed her in Chuck and Dexter.

Now she plays a CIA agent in the 9th season of "24 - Live Another Day". :D

I didn't see her in Dexter or 24 mainly because I have never watched those series before and don't want to spend the time with all those back episodes. I was able to meet her in person @ San Diego Comic Con last year. I had dealer passes through a friend which allow you to walk through the loading docs where a lot of the actors go to avoid the crowd. She was really nice but obviously rushed. I did go to Zach Levi's Nerd HQ as well...ok my geek is showing! :)

I watched it Saturday night..... Was it cheesy? Dam straight!! Did it remind me of Underworld? No, not at all even though the film had 3 -4 actors of Underworld, the story was completely different. Great special effects, good use of surrounds.... I had a good time and will watch it a few times again for sure.

Good news is Redbox had the 3D version. The visuals were very good, but I didn't think the effects themselves were that great. The story was pretty thin as expected, and it didn't remind me of Underworld at all either. Audio was impressive and the 3D was very good. Its a rental not a buy for me.

Well, we got the DVD from Netflix the other night. We stated watching it Saturday and both would up falling asleep somewhere before chapter 12 (out of 23) and shut it off and went to bed. We'll probably finish it sometime this week but neither of us feel an overwhelming desire to find out how it ends.

I doubt SFX in Blu-Ray and 3D will make it a more substantial, involving movie.
