I took the day off from work and am hooking up a new rooftop TV antenna. Well, I was...now I'm taking a break. I'm trying to have two antennas hooked up together using a coax combiner - hopefully it works well.

I can't believe nobody has brought up preparation; drip, pressed, vacuumed or perculated.

Drip, but I do love it pressed.

Darn you, Nomo! I was fine tuning my porn-based caption for those headphones, and then you posted first. Bastard.

After spending quite a bit of time getting it all set up yesterday, I was underwhelmed. Both antennas together gave me the same or worse reception than my original antenna.

This morning, I had the idea to flip flop the orientation of the antennas (they are pointed in different directions), and it worked much better! That made me happy. Which was nice, because as I was playing with Niki and running with the ladder to work on the antennas, I knocked off and broke a roof tile...but I'm just happy that she wasn't hurt, as she was standing right where it fell. If you've never seen one, they are ceramic and heavy. Having one fall on you from over ten feet up would hurt badly.

That stinks. Glad Nikki is ok. Can you replace the tile yourself or will you need to get someone to do it? We can't use that type of roof out here so I have no idea how they are repaired.

Thanks, Craig! If I get a hold of one, replacing it will be easy. It was on a corner. Those tiles have two holes for nails in them, and I just put it place and nail it (out of context quotes fully expected ).

I know of one place to get them, but I think that I'll ask my neighbor if I can buy one from him - I noticed that he had a stack of them in his yard last week.
