bupton, you will have to demo both products to see if there is a differance that you can notice. As for quality of the bass B&W will knock around the SVS but most people only want SPL.

So you are going to pre judge a movie that you have not seen? It is not black and white but since you pre judge everything I doubt you have read any of frank millers works.

If you do not buy from a dealer then Mcintosh will not support the product if anything goes wrong.

But if someone is buying a dedicated CD player they will more or less be using the DAC's in the CD player and that will have a huge difference in sound.
