After a little organizing last night:

Not sure where the surrounds are going to go. Have room, but one would be in the middle of the room and I am not liking that idea. Probably going to switch them with my A/V-1s from my other system.

Not sure I could live in an apartment after living in a house for so long. It will probably take you a while to acclimate to your new neighbors.

Nice, clean setup. Thanks for sharing.

    Wow John,
Your place was a bit of a staple around these parts! Well sorry to hear your not in a house now but hey its always fun to hear your gear in a new place!!

Lokkin good for so early into it! I like the layout so far. Clean & simple, not to jammed with stuff now. So the trial & error begins with placement...thats the fun part. Looks like no more tv wall-mount huh? Is that a new piece of furniture? At least the window is behind the tv which helps with reflections!! Gotta focus on the good

Time for a sub isolation platform to keep you in good relations with other tenants!!

Thanks for sharin the pics! Keep em' comin as you make changes.

The Empire doesn't really transmit vibrations to the floor, so I think that will help. I do still have a Gramma laying around that I can use if needed. It is a pretty large space too. Placement of the mains me about 2 weeks at the last place, and I haven't even had a chance to fire the system up here. Neighbors probably aren't going to like me The room seems to have decent acoustics so far too; just hooked up my little shelf sysetm to play some music and it wafts up into the vaulted ceiling area and doesn't echo. Will hopefully be actually getting things hooked up so I can fire things up. This system may actually be too much for the apartment and I've been pondering stepping down to a 3.1 or even a 2.1 setup and moving the rest of the gear up to the house.

The TV mount is a Bell-O piece, since they don't allow mounting on the wall, and since they don't allow wall mounting, I figured in front of the window would work out. The Salamander version is $600, the Bell-O was just $150 and basically attaches the same way. Gonna put curtains behind the TV and it will extend out a bit behind the speakers as well, and hopefully helping with acoustics a bit more.

The rack and speakers look good together. Even though the TV is a 55 incher it looks small. Not sure why. With your sub I'd do everything humanly possible to keep it off your neighbors radar like no corner loading, an isolation pad and turning it off after 8 or 9 PM. Good luck with them.

A big benefit of the Epik is that Parallel Drive system, so it doesn't pass any vibration to the floor. I had it on a Gramma and it made no difference. It is a surprisingly good solution for being in an apartment. I've cranked it a few times and got plenty of things to rattle, but I do turn it off before it is late (except on Fri and Sat ).

I think it is just the angle that makes the TV look small, because it is wider than the rack:

Wow your right it must have been the angle because it looks much smaller in that first photo. But from the front it looks bigger. Same size as my Panny so I know how big it is in person. Looking good though!!!
