Default It's about time!

Though I'm new to HT, I thought it might post my rudimentary system of second hand gear and partially diy speakers.

Just the basics w/ older stuff set in our town homes' living/dining room space. (Surround speakers sit on kitchen pass-through counter behind living/dining area.)
Rig:Yammie rxv659, Denon dvd1930ci, DIY SEAS froy3 (L/R), Vienna Acoustics theatro (C), JBL control1 (rears), Sony 46" lcd

You should really buy some flatwire speaker cable for your surrounds and paint it the same color as your walls. Such a nice clean install with that one glaring exception.

Thanks for your compliment. The black cables do look hideous, but I don't plan on making it permanent. I am thinking of installing in-wall, ceiling/corner mount, or monitors sitting on the Target Audio speaker stands (shown next to the plant in the photo of the surround speakers), which ever speakers shows up first at a frugal price used.

Room looks awesome, minus the surrounds. Fix those wires and place of the speakers, or delete that last pic. Also, try to get a universal remote, that end table looked so cluttered in an otherwise beautiful room.

Very nice setup. Do you have any trouble seeing the TV screen with the light shining in through the window behind it?

The window light directly behind the tv is not a problem. We can close the blinds completely to further darken the room if need be, but light from this source doesn't pose any problems.
But the windows in the kitchen shining into the living room can glare on the screen on a mid-afternoon bright summer day. But then again we don't watch tv too often at this time, so all is well generally.

Nicely done. I will second at least getting some paintable speaker wire for the surrounds, but other than that, it looks to be very well setup.
