I have thought of it a couple of times to get rid of my Cerwins, but they sound so good when I listen to MUSIC and movies! They are bulky but that really does not bother me! What is really out there that compares to there VS-150's? My wife likes the Bose but I dont think I do, heard Polk but I was not sold? When I go and listen to them I feel I am missing something can anyone help?
Thanks for your thoughts!
Wives are always gonna like Bose. They look nice. But stay clear of Bose.
If your looking for something thats a step up from Cerwin Vega I would look at Paradigm, Athena, PSB, B&W, Axiom, Mirage, Energy, Klipsch are just to name a few.
You probably wont get the bass of Cerwin Vega's but you will get a more accurate bass. Tighter and more deifned would be the best way to describe it. Also the mids and highs will be more prominent, but cleaner and more natural with better depth and imaging. I lived with the my buddy for two years who owns the Vs-100's and the above comments are what I noticed when i moved up.
Cerwin Vegas are great speakers for bass and rock music fans that like LOUD spls and a clean sound. They just aren't nearly as refined as some of the other companies listed.
Specific picks to replace the Cerwin Vegas would be -
Energy - C7 or C9 maybe C5 not sure how big you would like your speakers.
Paradigm - Monitor 7 or 9
PSB - Image T55 or T65
Athena - ASF2
There are many other options these are just some suggestions of speakers to listen to. Give us some more infor such as price, styles of music, and size of room and more options can be given.
