I think it's a good movie but way to long. As far as LFE... none of the theaters get down below 30hz if that in my area so I couldnt say. I'm surprised at how many people seem to have theaters in there area that produce high SPL's in the twenties or lower hz from all the LFE comments I've seen so far.

Canada has a better theaters then the states. My friend said "The one thing i will miss from Canada is the Theaters" He was a pro American guy, but needless to say, hes right, we have damn good theaters.

These are them BTW.

www.famousplayers.com All the Silver City ones are THX Cert. I see all my movies there for free :)

Note very much LFE?! What theater did you see it in..A portable DVD player?

I agree that ann darrow was the weakest link in this movie.

Now that I think about it, females in general are always the weakest link in movies. hm.

Yes, the theater is DTS and though not listed, THX. It was cranked up too. It really did not have the amount of bass I would have expected. The tyro scenes weren't even close to Jurasic Park. As I said, the surround was excellent. The use of rear and side channel information was extensive.

Now don't get me wrong, I'm never happy with theater experiences anymore. Rather stay home with 3-12" woofers in front of me.

I enjoyed the movie very much (though the natives creeped me out:eek: ), and I was looking forward to seeing it in a new local theater that offered DTS in 5 of its 11 theaters, very exciting I thought to myself. This was my first visit to this theater. Upon entering, saw JBL speakers:), and TOSHIBA projected on the screen. Time to start, previews start, steady tone for sound with picture playing, stops, few minutes later starts up again, ok, movie starts, green "artifacts" going down the right side of screen along with thin black lines going down in different areas through out. Annoying to me but most wouldn't notice, probably. Sound, mmm, seems the LFE was lacking intensly, was some good surround at times. Sound cut out on occasion and left rear surround was making a sounds:( . So I'm thinking, yet another movie I can't wait to get home on DVD! My humble system can so blow this mediocre theater experience away. If I only had a huge screen.

I saw this last night at the new theater here in town. (5-screen, primarily plays arthouse and drama features, so its not as popular)

Anyway, not much to add in addition to what several here have already said, but I loved the movie. Even at 3 hours it seemed about the right length.

Some folks, in fact, haven't seen any Kong. I've seen Godzilla too often as my buddy never seen even once. Well, I guess i have spoiled the fun of this "version" of Kong.

If Kong didn't have enough LFE then you should find another theatre. That movie, will be the next reference for LFE when the DVD hits. (Provided they don't screw up the mix!)

The D-Rex fights, and the artillery shots were incredible.

I thought the general consensus was that it was already too long. Maybe he should offer a Directors "cut" edition, that is 45 minutes shorter. ;)

The general consensus was that anyone who thought it was too long just doesn't like good action movies. I don't ever remember having to look at my watch during that movie and go, "Wow, this is long." Quite the opposite, the time flew and when it was over I wanted more.

Jackson is adding in some deleted scenes. There is a scene, similar to the original, where the crew is on a raft paddling to save Anne when they are attacked by a water creature.

I hope he adds something worth watching. I could have cut at least an hour out of the original release.
