Remember a young guy about 10 years ago talking about Beer 30. Some funny stories I guess.:)

I remember drinking 12 beer 30 lights in a day and not feeling a thing, but it was $10.99 for a 30 pack, it might have actually been cheaper than water at the liquor store

-----

To this day it is the worst beer I’ve ever had (well actually, Beer 30 Ice is slightly worse). And I’ve had plenty of malt liquor, and even Kirkland Light.

If it's worse than Kirkland Light, that's REALLY bad!

---------

It is the only beer I've seen someone puke from drinking half of one, not because they were drunk, but because of what was in it. I think it was mostly just industrial chemicals mixed with paint thinner. That was about 18 years ago, it has been a lonnnnng time since I have seen it. But it also wasn't a stable product, seemed to disappear alot, even back then, then you would just happen to see it at a schnuks randomly and give in to the sheer cheapness of it all.

One of our favorite beer and pizza spots, JTown Pizza, closed today. Went by at lunch to see if they were open. They were there, as was the ABC affiliate interviewing them. They were selling off their alcohol cheap, but I didn't hear about it until yesterday. Very sad to see them go.

Apparently, they bought another location up the street to open a pub style restaurant. That location was a local famous local Mexican restaurant that closed due to a major kitchen fire. It seems the location is a historic building, so permits are much harder to get and there are major restrictions on what can be done to it, so they fought in court for a few years with no incoming money from that location and that sank both places.

Sadly too common to see a local spot close. We’ve had more than a few up here go down in the last year, as well.

Bummer they went in on that historic building. Too many restrictions on that stuff and a restaurateur (or at the very least their lawyer) should have known what they were facing. Long odds and a lot more money than they anticipated.
