Not only did he "do a $700 repair without consent", but now he won't even provide an itemized invoice!
Thank you

I need to correct that i was mistaken about the amount

Its 600.00 , still significant , i just want to be accurate

Can i also ask where a slander case may start

I ve been cautioned about such if im to mention names

This may well affect his business negatively

All i wish to do is tell facts , give a review , also a review that other innocent customers deserve

I wouldnt use adoms and attacks like crook or thief

All i would say is i was sold a 5k amp , it blew 2xs in just over a month , speakers were blamed , speakers were verified ok , so now dealer says none of us knows what the root cause is , and now im on the hook for repairs , because it appears not knowing what happened defaults responsibility to the customer

Speakers are working fine on 3 other amps as well

That is the basics of what i would say

Thanks

Defamation refers to harming another person’s reputation by making a false written or oral statement about that person to a third party. Defamation law is not about protecting pride; it is about protecting reputation and offering restitution to people whose reputations have been wrongly damaged. Although courts will very occasionally issue an injunction to stop defamation that has not yet occurred, almost all defamation cases involve one person suing another for damages from defamatory statements that have already been made.

The key appears to be the word"False"

Did this amplifier come with a written, verbal or implied warranty?

If something fails repeatedly, it IS possible to find the root cause- that's what test equipment is for.

i was told verbally it had a 2 year warranty , yet the paper work in the box below the amp said 90 days

Oh my God! You got taken for a sucker on this ride. I would tell them to give me my product back immediately and to reverse whatever repair they made without my authorization. I would immediately write a review of the service and about their VERY weak warranty on such a pricey product.

This just gets more and more ridiculous the more I read it. They don't know how to build a product, they don't offer the warranty that almost all the most reputable manufacturers give, and they are now just screwing with you.

This amp will fail again. It clearly sounds like it is poorly designed. I wouldn't say that about them, but posting the facts. The price paid, the twice over failures, the lack of warranty, and then compare it to others that you haven't had issues with and have far superior support services or much longer warranties for similar or lower prices.

Stop letting them take you for a ride, and don't let them scare you out of an honest review of their product and service and support.

If all of your statements are in fact true, then it is not slander or libel or defamation.

Just be sure that you stick to facts, and documentation helps.

Honestly, my opinion is that if everything that you are telling us here is true, then you are morally obligated to inform us of the person and the business we are discussing here. You learned a hard lesson, do not let other suckers feed this vulture.

What does the manufacturer's web site say about warranty?
90 day warranty for the repairs or when it was new? The latter is a warning sign for me.

Do you have a Better Business like we do in the state? File a complaint with them.
Many years ago I had an issue with a rental company and it resolved because of the report.

While I find them somewhat useless sales organization, they (the BBB) are in the US & Canada...but who knows maybe would do some good.

Yes, all it costs is the time to fill and file the complaint that may be done on line.

When I was in business had a one-time client get unhappy (not our fault) and BBB used that as a way to try and sell us a membership to make it go away....

LOL, sounds like a reason to file a complaint to the BBB about the BBB.

I would collect any and all documentation for the sale, including e-mails before and afterward, including the service incidents. Then, I would contact whatever consumer protection agencies you have and let them go to bat for you. 90 days for a $5000 amplifier is a joke. if it was refurbished, I understand the shorter warranty, but it's still ridiculous.

I want to know what that amp is.

It is never defamation if what you say is true in substance and in fact. That is the legal standard under English Common Law, which is the basis of law in the US and Canada, and most of the other English speaking peoples. A lot of other jurisdictions base their law on Roman law, like Italy for example.

English Common Law is far superior in my view.

My thoughts on this will be brief. If they screwed you (they did if you are honest) then you should have no issue telling us who as they will do it to others. We only want to give you the best advice possible.

I can't believe I'm saying this twice in two different forums, but Yelp can be VERY powerful. If this is a local company then I'd roast them non stop and tell others EXACTLY what happened. People see stuff like that and it can destroy or at least hurt a business. Not saying you should do that, but you could.

Im a tad embarrassed here

I may have prematurely flogged my 280D Dac

I have a RSA dark star headphone amp , always used nice xlrs(moon) to dac from dark star

Now im sitting here red faced , unless the H 360 allows me to use only the dac internal for another device(Dark star) ,im in need of a new DAC?

The answer seems obvious But ill ask ne how

Good day

I now have my H 360 and it blows the other amp (yes i will say name as soon as all my business with dealer is satisfactorily settled) away , straight out of the box the 360 made me smile on the 1st note of Del Rio by St Vincent (Oh and bass response OH MY)

My concern here is as i look at my receipt it shows the H 360 as 3000.00 plus tax = 3400.00

Thats it , on paper it appears i only paid 3400.00 for that amp . Wicked deal eh .

In fact i traded in the old amp , the receipt does not evidence those values , or what i really paid for the H 360

Does this sound kosher to anyone here ?

I would like to put insurance floaters on my gear , and that receipt does not help the insurer much ?

I asked for a more detailed receipt , no reply yet

Thanks
