Acoustat,
I gotta say that every time I read your system, it is one of my favorites here!
I love the combination of vintage and modern (but all quality); Carver SS amp, Nak. Cassette deck!, Denon AVR, Acoustat's and Rythmik!
As for the aquarium, the fish have good vibrations with the new sub. Put on this when you leave the house and they'll feel right at home!
KEW, reading back through this thread since it's been a couple moments back...
(I just was appreciating my system and all the help you and Mark so kindly offered, I wanted to log back in and say a really big thank you to you guys, and anyone else that helped).
...I see I failed to reply to your post in appreciation of the blend of selected pieces of equipment, save for a "like".
Glad you can appreciate the choices. Everything is still spot on except room acoustics as always, which the Denons' Audyssey Platinum helps with quite a bit. Just vacuumed the speaker socks. Need to re-measure speaker distances to/from wall, and to sweet spot, and run Audyssey again.
Sadly I see MarkW has not been on in nearly 7 yrs. I had no clue how to bi-amp? my system (or even that it was a possibility) to put the Carver on my power hungry mains, and the powersensitive surrounds on the AVR. I was lost without your alls help. Then Audyssey set the distances once speakers were all in place. Mostly use this for multi ch stereo streaming from YouTube for music.
Not the cleanest source, but wow! I'll take the sound stage over decibels any day.
What sparked my renewed interest was insurance on replacement in case anything, and I went through the Martin Logan speakers website and saw the Neoliths, while looking. Need the lottery for those.
Been using the music for some...what we use music for, when you want to chill or meditate, and it's been a good source for that. Thanks again!
