That's one reason I switched from Samsung to Pixel. The bloatware was getting to be too much and they would randomly end certain services. Best pricing for Samsung also required locking in with a carrier in Canada while the Pixels were available unlocked at a reasonable price.

That ended up being important on our last holiday. Roaming on Rogers has gone up from $7 to $15 per day which is just nuts. I just went onto Airalo and got an e-sim for $30 with 5GB of data good for 30 days. Turned off my Rogers sim and just used apps for 3 weeks and it worked perfectly. FU Rogers! You have much cheaper phone plans in the U.S.
Don't you have Chatr in Nova Scotia? We have it in Quebec and It's owned by Rogers. They have very affordable deals. I don't need much with my cell phone and I'm paying only $25.00 + sales taxes per month for my package. Also, calls across Canada are free of extra charges.

I'm in Ontario (GO-NAD is in NS). Been a Rogers customer for a long time as we bundled services with them and the locked-in phones were cheap. We all have unlocked phones now but I have 3 on a shared data plan. They did up their rates again recently so I'm thinking of shopping around. I need good coverage in remote areas though in case work needs me. For travel, WhatsApp is widely used in Europe so a data package is good enough and I did not miss lacking phone service while on holiday.

Sorry about the mix-up.
I'm using a Samsung Galaxy 9 that I bought as refurbished a couple of years ago. But in a couple of years I will switch to an unlocked Pixel, unless something better comes out.

I was in the iPhone camp for 10 years. I got fed up of not being able to control the simplest things. The ability of the phone to let me know when I missed a call, (like it does with messages) was unavailable. And the ability to have the phone automatically turn on call forwarding when I arrived home was out of reach. I also wanted to be able to compose and read text messages on my PC, and this was not possible.

I switched to Android in 2019 and never looked back. I can now be nagged when I miss a call, automatic call forwarding ( based on our SSID) is a no-brainer, and Google Messages gives me access to my text messages on my PC, or any platform with a browser.

Other features are also available such as designating the number of apps in the dock (I have 6 of them), widgets (way before Apple added them), the ability to not have all open folders in the mail app by default (I have hundreds of folders), and the ability to order kindle books directly in the Kindle and Amazon apps.

While statistics indicate that only 6% of the population can go between Apple and Android or Android and apple successfully, I was able to do it and couldn't be happier. I was just so sick of Apple's closed, uber-restrictive, architecture, and anti-competitive nature.

If I was told a story about accessing a mobile phone that isn't in the same country as you're I'll call it fiction. Definitely it sounds impossible until you see it happen,Spyrecovery36 @ gm ail co m were the platform recommended to me for access into a mobile phone. When I first contacted I was scared to proceed because their services were a bit pricy which they worked with my budget, my desperation made go ahead with it and i definitely didn't regret it because I didn't lose anything, I got the information I needed and it was so smooth, they carried it out exactly as they said they'll and I'm so happy to have chosen them because they are exceptionally good

I like Apple because the rest of my family uses it and, in general, Apps are better optimized and battery life tends to be better.

I perfer everything else on Android. Spam blocking, customization of the Home Screen, independent volume controls, notifications, PC linking.

I recently switched to an IPhone 15 plus but after a week I want to go back to my Pixel 8 Pro.

Interesting Matt, you're the first person to say Apple had better battery life. I guess it's mostly a reflection of apps that one uses ? my android, Galaxy A42 get plugged in3 times a week, tops.

My Samsung 23 ultra was the only Android that bettered the big IPhones in my experience, and from some battery comparisons I’ve seen on Youtube(exciting stuff!), the iPhones tend to do well. This 15 plus does much better than my Pixel 8 pro when it comes to end of day battery life. I don’t have much experience with smaller phones. I would go as far to say that when I charge my iPhone to 80%, it’s comparable to the pixel at 100%.

I have been a dual cell phone person forever, Apple/Android
  • Currently using IPhone 16 Pro Max 1TB (work) & Google Pixel XL for Personal
  • I have been a big OnePlus fan in the past, can't beat their fast charging in the US, easy interface, large battery. Negative, total lack of accessories which finally became a deal breaker
  • Pixel XL provides the best clean android experience, great screen, decent battery life, "Good Enough" Performance. I don't game or edit videos on my phone and this phone has had 0 crashes, issues. I absolutly hated the S23 Ultra and will never buy anything Samsung again.
  • If not for the Apple Watch Pro, I probably would not have an IPhone, but I am addicted to my apple watch, The 16 Pro Max is only a mild upgrade from the 14 Pro Max it replaced. Great screen brightness and the same "love it or hate it" Apple interface.
  • My biggest mistake is thinking I want to carry around two 6.8in phones. If I were to do it again I would get the IPhone 16 Pro version instead of the max. I have a Macbook Pro M4 Max, Iphone, Apple Watch, 3 Apple TV devices, so they have me sucked in. I also own Apple stock, so I guess I need to support them

The Pixel line has been excellent for me for all the reasons others have mentioned.

I've never been an Apple or Samsung fan, but I deal with phones professionally so I'm biased.
