I love it - I have like 60 HD-DVDs now - Got them all for 18 and under. Now they are 12.20 at deep discount! I hope blu ray drop a bit to compete with sd dvds. 25 and 30 a pop for a blu ray is tough.

I personally thought Cars knocks Ratatouille well out of the park when it comes to PQ.
It's truly the most amazing HD I've ever witnessed.

Spielberg, you Bastard!:D

I can fully understand Spielburg choosing DTS over DD. I would too. But DTS-MA is not superior to uncompressed audio LPCM 24-bit or TrueHD 24-bit.

But I guess since his money is already tied in with DTS-MA, huh?

Oh well, another reason to get that new Panasonic DMP-BD50!!!
Can't get here soon enough!
Well, thanks to the bandwidth and capacity of Blu there's nothing stopping them from putting both a dts-ma and TrueHD track on there.

dts-ma isn't superior to PCM or TrueHD in terms of audio quality, as all three will be identical, but from a sound engineer's point of view it does maintain better compression. I'm not technically savvy enough to explain it, but I'll see if I can find the posts about it that I read. Plus dts-ma always contains a core 1.5 Mbps dts legacy track which allows those with optical or coaxial to get the best possible fidelity through that connection.

I am averaging $15 a disc for BD and I am up to 68 currently, with a number of them being only $9.99 (less than the SD DVD in many cases). If you knew where to find the deals on HD, you shouldn't have any problem finding them for BD.

I hear laserdiscs are also extremely cheap on eBay. lol
Speaking of Laserdiscs, I was going through my old RECORD albums and found 2 old LD's I had got mixed in with my record collection. Cape Fear (the Nolte version) and Honey I Shrunk the Kids. Big shiny discs. In the garbage now.
Anyone out there still have their LD players?

Did you check eBay for pricing on them before tossing them? They might get you a few bucks ;)

So, does one scarf up a slew at reduced prices over the next few months or cut ones losses? My losses are slight, with just an A2, Transformers, The Harry Potter boxed set that I gave my wife for Christmas, and the free ones.

I would expect 4 to be here sometime in Q4/08.

Hopefully by then they might have the trilogy ready (or quadrilogy rather) all on Blu-ray.
My money is on that bet!! When the Crystal Skull BD goes on sale for it's day/date BD release..... the trilogy will too.
