Vienna Acoustics for HT

I looking at some speakers for HT. I like the Vienna Acoustics Schonberg series. Would the Webern model be okay for fronts or should I go with the Schonberg model? Anyone have any experience with the Trio Center or Subson Sub? I would like to wall mount the fronts. My room is 13' wide and 19' in length. Thanks

Hi,
I just listened to both of these for my own HT last week. IMO both the schonberg and webern had overpowering highs. I thought that they drowned out the mids. But I really did like how the bass line sounded in the schonbergs. They have been the best sounding, bass wise, wall mounts that I have heard without a sub. The weberns seemed to be missing that great bass IMO.

Anyone auditioned the Vienna Acoustics Trio?

Hi, this is my first post--it's nice to be apart of your forum. There are some great, informative posts out there--thanks much!

I recently auditioned Weberns as lcr's at my local Magnolia--they sounded great, especially with the REL and ML Dynamo subs. (I matched them up with in-wall speakercraft MT-6 Ones in back.) I thought it sounded balanced, and warmer than I expected considering the aluminum cabinets. And even sounded great in stereo, with the left and right and either/both of the subs. The Weberns can certainly support your music as well as HT. I was ready to pull the trigger on the three of them, in piano black, when my wife came into the picture. Considering our wall mounted 46" aquos (no banding:) !) in the living room is right off the front door (we have no entry way/foyer), she was objecting to framing the tv with speakers and turning our living room into a media room. So, I have been thinking about the lcr in one speaker cabinet Trio to give me a cleaner look on the wall. I read about the Trio on VA's site (not Sumiko) and it appears to be well engineered (e.g., L and R spaced out to minimum distance to create appropriate soundstage, etc.), but there is no place to audition it in Seattle, WA where I am, or anywhere in OR or CA for that matter. Anyone listened to it? My take is that it is not very popular because it is priced in the audiophile market ($1600 plus $150 wall mount) and is not your typical audiophile loudspeaker and in fact runs counter to what most enthusiast would consider to be optimal. Distilled down, it is only three Berg speakers, within 33 inches total distance...you are forced into a fixed soundstage...not exactly what the audiophile is looking for. And the thought of two six in. drivers and a sub is not what most people would think is an acceptable music experience outside of HT. Different story with the Webern solution--each Webern has two drivers, and two could definitely hold up your stereo needs, especially with a quality high end sub.... If you learn any more about the Trio, or know where to get a used one, please let me know. You cannot go wrong with the Weberns and I imagine that VA would not offer a crappy all in one, so I imagine that we'd be happy with the Trio, too, but I would like to audition one or hear from someone about it (besides Sumiko) before I drop the cash...

Sorry I can't comment on the Trio. I really like everything I've heard from VA. I don't know what your budget is, but here is something from Aerial Acoustics that will knock your socks off and perhaps has a bit more WAF (wife approval factor). It will set you back a few sheckles...but WOW...
