I got the TRIPPLITE 1000VA with lcd display to protect my home theater. Right now I have it plugged in the wall and am waiting for the battery to fully charge before I hook everything up to it. The LCD screen moves between 118-123 so is this normal for just being plugged into the wall? sorry I am not very educated in this kind of thing but I am learning a lot from this site.

Be worried if it ever says it's higher than 140. :)

electrical voltage from your power company easily varies + or - 5% throughout the day. As all the folks on a particular transformer or power circuit turn their AC units on or off, motors or lighting goes on or off, the voltage will swing back and forth within the 10% envelope. It when the voltage drop exceeds about 8% to 9% that you are approaching "brownout" conditions and when it exceeds 120 VAC by 10% that you are in a surge condition.
