Where are you located, which brands are available in your area and what is your planned budget?

Topeka , kansas. Just outside of Lawrence 3 to 5 thousand for a front tower setup is my main focus will add center and or surrounding speakers later

I would lean toward the Arendal speakers. The ML XT towers are supposedly good, but I have heard the new XT bookshelf speakers, and they are awful. Given that, I would not trust ML to execute their center speaker correctly. The Arendal center, on the other hand, is very good.

Not sure what you mean? IMO they’re fairly elegant for a Tower speaker. Not beautiful like a B&W or Legacy, but much more so than my old monkey coffins lol

I guess that's why they make so many different speakers in different styles....i find them very generic and bland looking.
Nothing to do with how they are built and sound of course.

Well there’s really only so much you can do with a rectangle lol. When the lights go down it doesn’t matter much.

I can recommend the Arendals. I Had the 1723S towers and upgraded to the 1723 towers. I listen to almost all music and they are the best I’ve heard in my listening room. I Heard the MLs in a showroom and was not impressed enough to try at home. If you live in the US you can buy and try the Arendals at home for 60 days and return free of charge. Suggest ordering soon if you are interested because there’s a price increase coming later this month.

Im sure those are fine speakers....why JBL made them look like old rack system speakers is beyond me though.
I love the look honestly of the jbl. All natural wood look with deep grain

Do these out perform the arendal everyone is all over YouTube with
You can compare the measurements taken to start perhaps

The jbl center doesn't seem to be a good center speaker. So I guess I should look for a good cent and go from there. Any recommendations. But I can't find too much info on center speakers. Except w t/m w. Is supposed to be the way to go
