The next morining (this morning), I went out to feed the birds, the 2 lovebirds were sadly dead. I am assuming that the mice chose the smaller birds to attack for the crumbs in the cage, the other 2 birds are 2 to 3 times the size of the lovebirds.
so he/they came back?

i've always wondered about this, but over here ... there's an urban myth/legend that if you try to kill a rat ... you should do it all the way otherwise, it remembers your scent and pretty much destroys your shoes/clothes/etc when it tries to get revenge.

Gasman, I'm very sorry for your loss. It's difficult to lose a pet (let alone two), and even more so when you feel responsible. I'm glad that your other friends are okay, and I wish you all well.

No, I was talking about the mice.
Yeah, I killed one (tossed it into the canal), the other got away.

Rats, from my understanding are much more intelligent than mice.
I am guessing, that even seeing other dead rats in the general arera (probably around canal bank), that they decided to head somewhere else.
But when the rat is away, the mice will play.

So now I have to get rid of the mice.:mad:

My neighborhood is quite clean. But living on the water, we have this issue every few years.

EDIT;
Gasman, I'm very sorry for your loss.
Thanks Adam, I, by no means was looking for sympathy. :eek:
(although with all the animal lovers here, I'm sure I will get some = THANKS fellows;))

I was just posting the whole story, as I am VERY happy my loving dog is ok. (Buddy)(actually Buddy the Elf, from the movie Elf:D)
And although I am sad, and do feel responsible, I am not mad at myself.
As like I said, I don't know what else I could of done.:confused:
The only time I bring the birds inside is winter time (which is rare here in South Florida).

Anyways, sorry for the sad rambling post.
