i'm achin for an SMG.

MP5 or UMP (9mm's and .45's would be fun in auto)

i could maybe get the MP5 in .22LR

honestly, i don't like playing with the m16 ... i feel it's too destructive/dangerous to be fun.

I agree, I'd love to have an MP5k pdw. but I'd settle for an HK94, the civilian version of the MP5

when one says PDW, is there just one kind? the folding stock kind et al?

can't decide between the PDW and SD (with retractable stock)

that's if the wife will let me get another one.

waiting period til you can bring it out? btw, how do your papers work there, i heard that you have ONE license for all your guns?

here we have the ff:
ONE license PER gun
ONE PTC (permit to carry) PER gun
ONE PTT (permit to transport) PER gun - this can be a short duration of time OR limited to the house - gun range

No permit required to transport, but there are a number of requirements: cannot transport loaded with the exception of hunting. Locked, stored away from the driver/passenger area, etc...

Concealed carry is almost unheard of in California; it is possible, but highly unlikely. My county is one of the few that does offer it though :D, but CC is still restricted in most cities. For a handgun you need a handgun certificate which says little more than you can pass a test that cites current laws and has to be renewed every few years. You also need to demonstrate that you can load/unload/make safe the handgun in question.

what's the difference between a 9mm UMP and a 9mm MP5?

the UMP is said to be later generation to replace the mp5, but people still seem to like the mp5

edit:
oh, the UMP has an 8" barrel

The SD is the silenced version, the PDW is personal defense weapon, it has the folding stock, or can have no stock, and there are versions as well, some wiht the navy trigger group, some without, and it's available in .40 and 10mm versions as well.

yeah full auto. that's no problem here, the problem is the silenced version, it might not be legal.

SD3 is SEF, SD6 adds the 3 round burst

H&K MP5 is 8000USD here. doh.

MKE (licensed clone from turkey) MP5K is 4400usd (no stock)

Norinco (bootleg from China) MP5A4 is 2000usd

Not exactly making me happy with all that has gone on in the last few weeks, but I picked up the .45 today.

just got to read the CA gun laws. i can't believe those laws are from the United States of America!

if there was a zombie apocalypse, i'd say CA has a weak defense :D

anyway, was reading because apparently, it's NOT illegal to have disassembled high capacity magazines shipped to CA (as long as it's never assembled in CA).

problem is, the amazon vendor willing to ship disassembled mags to CA disappeared. know any other place online that does this?

interested in paraord px1445 mags, pmag 30's and 20's, and possibly colt m4 22lr magazines :D

Unfortunately I don't. Usually it is "a guy you know in another state" who gets that sort of thing for you, or you go to another state to get them. For us, that's Nevada.

I'm not really looking for a new gun, I just want to shoot the ones I got.
