There is no denying Yamaha's reliability. They are built like a tank. I also need to clean up my cabling. However, my health is not letting me do much of anything right now. Will get to it as soon as I am able to. BTW, what type/brand 4K HDMI cables did you get? I am looking for some recommendations myself. Not happy w/the ones that I have. Thanks!

Thanks! The cables that I am using are hard to work with in that they are a bit heavy/thick. I need something affordable albeit 4K that is thinner and soft. You know, easier to position/place. Sometimes, what seems like a bargain ends up being nothing but a pain in the arse.......LOL!!!!
I fixed my TX-SR805 led display issue once by resoldering few resistors. Next time it's gonna play possum, a door would be shown and swift kick to follow.I'm becoming a dinosaur... I'm still running my RX-V2500.

I'm happy to report that the Amazon no name specials were transmitting 4K material from player to the TV without issue. I tested this with only $K film, Blade Runner 2049. I did have to select the DTS-Master Codec as my old AVR does not support Dolby Atmos. I did get some HDMI handshaking issues were the AVR would flash DTS-Master Codec display on and off and the sound would cut out. I turned the AVR off and on and that fixed it.Thanks! Makes me tired just thinking about all the work you have done to clean that mess up......LOL!!!!! No seriously, I bet it did take a good while to get a grip on that literally speaking. BTW, have a link for the 4K cables that you are referring to? Inquiring minds want to know.
I put that system up in a hurry when I first moved in and I never took the time to revisit it. Other priorities kept popping up. Its the power distribution I'm still having issues with. I have the power located under the console unit with the power button exposed so that I can easily turn it off in case of thunderstorms. I usually look at the forecast every morning before going to work and if there is a risk, I shut if off. The power chord for the display is too short so I have to use an extension cord to make it reach the power bar. I also have a WD media player, a USB hard drive, and the PVR which all use walwarts which makes organizing this more difficult.

I was looking at something like this to replace my existing power strip. Would this work for all the equipment listed in my sig or do you think I'd be pulling more amperage than it could handle?
