If you like it and are a dark beer man pick up Young's Double Chocolate Stout. Probably my favorite beer although it is way better draft but what beer isn't.

Ohh, and you should be able to pick up the Modelo in a single bottle just incase you don't like it. I found this out when I bought some to make some chili.

The worst "good" beer I've ever had has to be Sam Adam's Cranberry Lambic. Simply horrific! Imagine taking a bottle of beer, pouring in a shot of Ocean Spray, then whisking in a couple TBSP of sour cream- that's pretty close to what it tasted like.
Oh, I grabbed some of that piss out of a cooler at a party once. It was like beer threw up in my mouth after thanksgiving dinner.

One of the ways a beer gets skunked, is by light.
Beer is best in a brown bottle.
Clear, or green glass bottles, don't filter all the spectrums of light, that damage a beer's taste. Some even have the sides of the cardboard six pack, raised almost to the top of the bottle. All to protect it from light.
Just thought I'd share that little bit of beer info.:)

I rgink whatyou're talking abouyt is "blue moon"

As a general rule, any beer that you have to add citrus to in order to make it drinkable is by definition a bad beer. I have a sister in law that loves some crap beer (I think it has the word moon in the name) that was absolute piss. She tell me, "No, you have to drink it with an orange wedge." Um... no I don't. I don't have to drink it at all.
Sort of across between a sickeningly sweet whine cooler (intended) and a weak beer. My local tavern just got this on tap. Let's hope they lose it soon but it seems the ladies like this piss water.

Now that you mention it, iirc, all the "skunky" tasting beers I've tried and remembered over the years have all come from clear or green bottles. I don't remember any cans (I try to avoid buying any canned beer) or brown bottles having any "skunky"-ish beer.

Cans and Brown Bottles of beer certainly can get skunky if not kept at a consistent temperature however.

Oh my god you are so right. It's like drink than spit lmao!! I had it in 99 and I still remember how bad it is!! I remember because about 40 miles from where I live is a kick *** beer store called Total Wine. My mom and I went there and we saw the same 12 pack of sam adams and we were like yuck it's that cranberry crap again. At that same store I found an austrian beer that's 14% alcohol by volume it's called samichlans bier!! I could smell the malt liquor in that one it was actually pretty good better than the cranberry crap I can say that.

Mischa.

So after all this debate about Guinness I figured I should give it another go. So I went down to the shop I buy all my beer at and picked up a 4 pack of draught pints. After dinner and after the beer was chilled I sat down to an arguably good movie and started to drink. As I was drinking I will have to concede Guinness is a good beer especially along the lines of mass marketed beers. I still may not think it should be the beer that comes to most everyone's minds when they hear dark beer, but its not close as bad as I was alluding to.

To sum it up I have to say Guinness is a good beer, even great when comparing to others with similar name recognition. I still may not believe it is worthy of the name recognition it has, but it is good. Thank you for getting me to try it again ;).

Ohh and that pick up above is gross.

I kinda like Blue Moon. Not always, but it reminds me a little of a great Belgian beer that I can't get in Arizona. I'll get a six pack or two for the fridge if you'll send some of those ladies this way.

Guinness ain't bad but personally, I'm a PBR man myself. There's no day that Pabst can't fix :)

Worst Beer I ever had? "Old English: Steel Reserve" it only comes in 40s and no one has ever seen the bottom of one.

If this is the steel reserve you are talking about then wow. That stuff is cheap and pretty tasty, especially for the price.

Really, PBR is your favorite? I put that along the lines of coors and bud beer to get drunk on but thats where it ends and even then I am never going to buy PBR.

Hahaha I finally realized too many people like the beer for it to be bad and it had been quiet a while since I have had it. So yay for finding another beer I like especially because at a random pub with crappy selection its a safe bet.

We should probably kill the fatted calf to welcome the prodigal son back to the fold! Glad you saw the light. :D

I could really murder a beer right now...

Yeah, sad thing is that a few of the beers in that sampler are really superb but not otherwise available in SD. Stock Ale is generally unavailable here and is in my top 10 beers. I like the Scotch Ale, too. But the Honey Lager, Summerfest & Lambic are only fit to unclog drains.

Note to Sam Adams- grains of paradise, honey and fruit do not belong in beer.

Mmmm, tasty! I bet those cans of brew that they found in the van that had been sitting outside in the south pacific for several years went down smooth.
