The Worst Beer List

gotta love some of the names

"General Generic Beer" by Miller brings to mind something in an unmarked can simply labelled "beer".

And "Bootie Light" kind of says it all.

I do remember from my days in Biloxi in '70 or so having tried Jax and Dixie Beer and am still trying to get the metallic taste out of my memory.

I can;t believe they found 24 worse beers than Milwaukee's Best! Also Utica Club Ale deserves to be on that list.

Glad to see My Corona's werent on that list. When I first started drinking beer I thought they were ALL horrible. I couldnt even drink one beer without wanting to dump it out halfway through. I still dont really care much for it as a whole, But I kept trying different beers until I found one I could drink which is corona. I couldnt just keep drinking those little cheerleader pantie drinks all my life. ( Smirnoff ice, mikes etc) although i still pick some every now and then just because they do taste better than beer.

I have also found I can drink a beer from the taps much easier than the bottle. Its so much smoother. Wish I had my own little bar so i wouldnt have to drink bottled beer.

The WORST beer Ive had to date would be guiness. The one in the bottle with the little floater thing. That was bad. I did dump that out.

Tequiza comes in a close second. Also horrible. To me it tasted like how that powder makeup smells. weird.

Most people seem to not like beer a lot when first drinking it then warm up after being forced to get drunk on cheap beer for a while ;).

Did you pour the Guiness completely out of the bottle before drinking it? Because if not that floater didn't get to do its job and it wasn't as tastey as it should have been.

Ohh and Corona should be on that list. I swear its piss in a bottle.

I didnt pour the guiness out of the bottle, but I dont see how that could have made it much better. It was just awful.

The floater only works if you pour the whole bottle into the glass. It doesn't change the flavor per say but it creates the proper carbonation.

Guiness in a bottle:eek:. Talk about taking an already awful beer and turning it into something worst. To me it's all about having a cold one and Guiness is suppose to be served at room temp, enough said. It's like chilling red wine!

I'm no Guinness lover, but I'll say that it has its moments. The finish is more bitter than I like, but going down it's smooth. At least the bottles of Guinness recommend that it be served chilled, not room temperature.

The worst beer that I've had (that comes to mind) is Cave Creek Chili Beer, and that stuff did make the list. Uggg.

God, I love Guiness! The Draught stuff is best, but I like both. Murphy's Pub Stout is slightly better, IMO. There's nothing much better than a Black & Tan made with Murphy's and Bass Ale.:D

The list is pretty silly, IMO. While I'm not a big fan of Bud Lite, I think there are plenty of worse beers that could bump it off the list. It's more bland than bad. Same for Mich Ultra- I'd take an ultra over everything else on that list! Worse than Camo!? That's flatly absurd.

While there are some generalizations one could safely make it's like two guys arguing over who's kids are cuter- it's entirely personal opinion. Bud Lite or Coors Lite? What's the diff- they're so similar that to elevate one over another would be meaningless opinion. I'm a bit of a beer snob, but I could probably sit with ten other beer snobs rating samples and you'd find almost no agreement at all.

As a man who loves Guinness, It hurts to hear one being poured out;). But it is actually supposed to be served very cold. And the can is designed to be poured out into a glass, not the bottle, because the nitrogen releasing widget (real term) is different.

I do believe that corona should be on that list...along with all light beers haha:p

Just my opinion,

Lucas

The worst beer I ever had was something called POC, which was a beer brewed in Cleveland. We decided it stood for p*** of Cleveland based on the taste (it was known more commonly as Pride of Cleveland or Pilsener of Cleveland). It must have been brewed with water from the Cuyahoga River back in the days when it regularly caught on fire. Apparently a company still brewing in Cleveland has a sense of humor about that event (drink carefully and stay away from combustible objects):

If you've never had Guinness served properly in Ireland, you've never had Guinness. It's as simple as that.

If by mean served properly you mean at the Guinness factory with a shamrock in the head then been there done that. Still not good. Its just an overrated dark beer with a name everyone recognizes. Its like the blose of the dark beer world.

Too bad on the guiness. You shouldn't write it off yet. As for something to try, I would recommend Boddington's Cream Ale. It usually comes in draught cans, but it's still damn good (though of course best on tap). It's an excellent creamy ale.

Dixie is pretty bad but pretty much any beer made in Egypt tops my list. That was some of the worst beer I've ever had. Oh, and Guinness rules.

Guinness is one of my favorites. With it being a stout, some find it too heavy.
I supposed it's because most of us started our drinking careers :)with watery Lagers, served very cold. We didn't know (Dare I say: real beer) had body and taste.
A stout, I guess it's an acquired taste.

In the early 90's Bell Labs sent my to school for a week, out in California. After that, I took a few extra days and drove up the coast, to Washington.
I met friends their, and they introduced me to the world of Brew Pubs.
Since then, bottled watery Lager type beers were a thing of the past.
It was like comparing a pre-packaged cupcake, to one, homemade, by Martha Stewart.
