The Dina Ellie scene is different in the game. They combined two semi-related occurrences into one in the show, the kiss discussion and the immunity issue. One aspect is better in the game and one is better in the show. In the game, Ellie tells her she is immune during the kiss discussion and Dina thinks she is joking. Then she finds out first hand and the second interaction happens. In the show though, they had the confrontation about it, which I liked better.

Unless they change it, there is Seattle Day 1, 2 and 3 with Ellie. Then the other side, Seattle Day 1, 2 and 3 with Abby and the WLF. So there should be plenty of WLF and Seraphites, with some flashbacks mixed in. From the previews, it looks really well done. I like that they gave some background on Issac, Wright's character, because you don't know much about him in the game except that he's their leader. Wright also plays Issac in the game!!

There look like there are two aspects that may also have changed though: Seattle isn't totally flooded, and how the Seraphites get around Seattle without detection in the game. There are two big sequences that rely on these things.

I KNOW where this season will end lol, and if they pull it off, it will be pretty nuts. The E5 preview looks to be setting that up.

Druckmann is the director of the game and the show, without him, the show would not be good because he understands what the story is trying to say. Look at Uncharted the movie vs. the games. Uncharted is one of the best game series ever done and the movie they created from it was absolute GARBAGE, because it slightly left out the core point of the story that made it good.

As I've never played the game any discrepancies does not bother me but I do like the show.

I tried playing Uncharted. Got about halfway through the first. Have no doubt that the second and third outing's are really good. The movie should've been so much better. Even without knowing a lot of the small details, I thought the movie was just mediocre. I don't think Wahlberg was the right choice for Victor. I guess the same could be said about Tom Holland playing Drake. You think they'll make a second one?

If they do, it needs to be a reboot lol. Tom Holland could have been OK as Drake if they made the story better, but Wahlberg was the wrong choice for Victor for sure. They changed so much of it that it didn't even make sense. It is not bad from an action standpoint, but the whole story has nothing to do with the games.

Well, it looks like we will not see Abby's story this season, since the next episode is the finale. So the next season will be Abby's story and Santa Barbara. That's a long time to wait to see the second part of the story.

All the changes they made to the story now make sense when they came together in this week's episode.

Even after last nights episode it only solidified for me that I don't like Ellie. The whole "you lied to me" crap. Sorry, I have no feelings for Ellie, accept she's annoying as hell. or maybe it's just the actress playing her that makes her character so unlikable and annoying. Joel should've done the hard thing and let her go. Life would've been better and the show probably could've been better. The entire porch scene, I had ZERO sympathy for Ellie. I felt bad for Joel that he had to put up with her stupidity, even though I know he was trying to act as a father figure to her, but clearly Ellie doesn't want a father figure in her life and she thinks she can handle everything herself. That's just my two cents. I'll be out on the fringe area with this season vs the grand majority and that's fine with me. I didn't play the games so I'm critiquing it just based on the show. :)

If he let her go, there would be no show or game :D The point of the story is them all dealing with their flaws and mistakes. Bella has good acting range, but she is not the same as the voice actress in the game. Lots of fans of the game don't like her. She comes across different in the show than the game too. She's actually more angry and jaded in the game.

They are making changes they say to make it easier to understand without the gameplay aspect, which there are some additional details you get while playing (that don't really change the story). Even though the main points hit the same, the show does feel different. The current episode is a good example - you literally don't see that porch scene until the end of the game. Bringing it into the main Ellie arc changes how it feels.

This season is OK, was hoping it would be better. You may like the flip side more, Abby's story sort of parallels Ellie's but she is very different. Will be interesting how she comes across in the show.

The final episode actually looks good, based on the preview. I'm looking forward to the Abby side of things if that's what they do. I want to see how others survived this apocalypse. How groups were formed and such. That's what interests me the most. Different factions in times of crisis. This show could be an amazing show. But the writer injects it with his own personal agenda, which to me I think is stupid. We can clearly see his agenda smothered all over the screen at times. He did that with the games from what I've read, which resulted in tons of hate and dislike for the DLC and such. Now he's done that with this second season. I just wish they'd stick to what made the games great to begin with and just expand on that. Too late now that Joel is dead. But now his brother should be stepping up and they should include him more to show how they're going to build Jackson back up. Throw in the revenge story as well and leave all the other junk behind. Keep it focused on new factions, introduce new great characters, have the Jackson rebuild and finally the revenge. Winning show right there! :D

Except for the stageperson seen in the bushes last night....this is an excellent show.
Never played the games (I would if they ever come to Xbox)

I really don't get all the hate for Bella Ramsey (you should see all the Reddit hate on this subject)
They decided to cast someone a little off-kilter for Ellie, and as far as I'm concerned...it worked.

What you want sounds like another version of The Walking Dead.

I tried watching that series way back in the day. Never made it out of the first season. Just never felt like going back and starting it again. That was about 11 years ago... hahaha. Not even watching it, I felt the show went on for far too long. There may be a couple seasons worth watching. At some point. :)

Did you notice the ear piece in Pedro's right ear when he was playing the guitar?

Tommy is still around, they just haven't gotten to that part yet. If next week is the finale, he will be in it, as will the revenge aspect likely leading to a big cliff hanger that leaves you waiting for Abby's story.

I don't want to spoil it, but since you want to see that aspect, there is ANOTHER faction :D Likely next season.

I don't mind Bella. There are times when she seems exactly like the game, and others where she's nothing like it.
