Left Behind was a solid recreation of the game. Slightly different as it does not have the searching the mall aspect obviously, but nicely done.

E8 was also extremely close to the game, again with a few minor changes that still work well. Bella Ramsey said the final episode could divide fans. I know how the game ends and it is pretty intense. I hope they stick with the game ending more or less, but Bella Ramsey tweeted that it may depart from it. Regardless, I expect a heavy duty last episode.

I'm guessing they'll end the season on cliff hanger. Since they know a S2 is happening and it will keep people engaged until the next season. I've never played the games, but I suspect they'll deviate from the game some so they can end on that cliff hanger.

I've enjoyed the show. I know on the AVS Last of Us forum, there have been people disappointed there hasn't been much "zombie" type action. But I actually like that they haven't relied on that, much. I think not knowing what's out there and the different factions all over the place add more intensity to the story.

Enjoying it. It also has one of the most beautiful video presentations I’ve ever seen on a streamed show. It really looks good.

I would have liked to see a bit more of the zombie "stealth", since it is often easier to sneak past and a little combat since that is a big part of the game, but not a lot of it in the show. The show doesn't really need it thanks to the story.

Caught up with the last few episodes in time to finish it off tonight.

Not gonna say anything for risk of spoiling...

Wish there was more, now... not a wait for S2. ;)

Yeah, hard to talk about that ending without blowing it. I wasn't sure how people who hadn't played the game might have received that. Very nicely done episode.

Good end to the season. Supposedly they are going to make the second game into two separate seasons. HBO will be releasing this show on 4K as well. So will definitely be picking this up when it comes out.

Kind of makes sense about s2. The "switching" between the character's story you are following might be a little more complex for the show compared to the game. Plus S2 is probably coming out around the time the next game comes out.

There were a lot of small and a few big differences from the game in S2 after just one episode, but they've still nailed the look and feel. It sounds like there are going to be quite a few more differences as well, but the reviews of this season have it slightly higher than S1.

S3 was already approved before S2 even started.

Having never played the games, I can't argue overall story and the major differences. What I can say is that I think the casting for Ellie was horrible. I think the actress playing her doesn't look anything like the character. not even close. She was good in Game of Thrones, but in this show she really annoys me. Nothing personal against her, I just think she was miscast. There are going to be 7 episodes this season. So I imagine there will be plenty of stuff happening in each episode. Supposedly, they want to do 4 seasons. Anybody who has played the games want to chime in and comment on if this show has enough material to complete 4 seasons?

I just replayed the 2nd game. I heard they want to break S2 for the events of the 2nd game, into two seasons. That will allow them to expand on some of the individual stories, similar to what was done in S1, as there are two distinct sections. First they have to show Abby's motivation. Then Ellie's. You switch back and forth between the two in the game, but that may not work as well in a show. Then things come to a head. That last part may move into S3.

Druckman has not confirmed there will be a 3rd game, but indicates he intends to continue the show. A 3rd game seems very likely still, but zero word about it.

I don't mind Bella Ramsey as an actress, but I agree that she's maybe not an exact fit here. He is looking for their personality to suit the character, not the appearance. Though some of the other actors fit pretty well, not all of them do. The actor for Abby looks very much like her, except for the obvious fact that she's a few sizes smaller lol. In the game, she's taller than and more muscular than Owen. In the show, she's a foot shorter than him. The actor for Jessie looks pretty close. The actor for Tommy is completely different than the game.

Another issue I had during that first episode, that's also getting a lot of chatter, is that first scene where Ellie is fighting that dude 3x her size and she somehow gets him to tap out. hahahaha. Sure, he said he "pulled' his punch, but the dude was at least 6ft tall and weighed close to 200lbs going up against a 5'5" 120lb girl. He could've just pancaked her and sat on her to finish the "fight". hahaha :p :D

Yep. It CAN happen (Gracie finished a guy who had +100 lb. on him in UFC), but it isn't likely and she's not a Jiu Jitsu master :)

I think that scene was more to reestablish her attitude and that she can handle herself, not the realism of the fight.

Just like Walking Dead, I read an article that said some viewership dropped off after S2 E2 due to the death of a main character. Many of us, specifically those who played the games, already knew that was coming. To be honest, it is actually MORE violent in the game.

Though they keep moving things around and sort of combining some of them to tell the story in an "efficient" way for viewers, it is still coming across as faithful to the game's story. The little bit about Issacs's past was beneficial, but he is not really a main character. From the next episode's preview, it looks like they are mutating it from tendrils to spores, since the game was always spores.

This latest episode was pretty good minus the stupid Ellie/Dina scene near the end. I know people who played the game will say that stuff was in the games, but from what I've read about the games is that all of her love stuff came in the form of DLC. DLC is added content after the MAIN game came out. So, the idiots who created the game felt they needed to push this topic in the form of DLC. Get this Neil Druckmann off the show. He's ruining what could be a great series. That entire scene in the show was so stupid. I have no idea how they're going to continue this show for another 2 seasons. I actually hope Ellie gets killed off and they bring in somebody new to lead the show. Dina can go too. Both can meet their end at seasons finale and then, hopefully they can use Jeffrey Wright more and bring in some actual talent to headline and bring in new script writers. Just my two cents. :)

I want to see more of the other factions. More of Wrights character and more of W.L.F and such.
