The freedom convoy of antivaxers here in Canada are a bunch of facist pigs.

Thanks for sharing this information. There are other studies that have greater numbers (not limited to 9 states). I will see if I can find them and share. I tend not accept info from the CDC simply because they have misled the public to many times to count.
This is the most recent study I can find in the US. I would prefer a larger sampling size. https://ijr.com/cdc-study-natural-immunity-significantly-protection-covid/

You don't even read your own source material. Here is the conclusion from the paper your lay press article was attempting to summarize: Highlight is mine
"Although the epidemiology of COVID-19 might change as new variants emerge, vaccination remains the safest strategy for averting future SARS-CoV-2 infections, hospitalizations, long-term sequelae, and death. Primary vaccination, additional doses, and booster doses are recommended for all eligible persons. Additional future recommendations for vaccine doses might be warranted as the virus and immunity levels change."

Amongst the other sources you have cited include Senataur Ron Johnson a PROVEN distributor of false information. https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/2022/02/01/how-falsehood-athletes-dying-covid-vaccines-spread/

Yes I have spelled his job title correctly. You may recall from mythology that a centaur has the head of a man and the body of a horse. A Senataur is the reverse.

I did read it. I shared it despite that it did not support my position. I also subsequently posted another article on that is more recent and supports my position.
Regarding Johnson, I am referencing testimony in a hearing and the data mined from DOD database. That information, to my knowledge has not been refuted. They cast aspersions on Johnson in an effort to “cancel” him, but it is easy to see through such tactics. If you want to get the real information listen to the testimony in the hearing. If not, don’t, but to disregard without hearing it is unreasonable.

Well, when she's speaking about the US constitution, she's clearly not part of any of the Canadian protest groups. I didn't listen to it all...powerful speaker, nonetheless.

Its about time!! On a other note, I thought the NY Times was smarter than that. I find it disappointing that they would rather spread disinformation then doing their homework.
That's nothing new. In the early 1990's, National Geographic reported inexact info on our Quebec province. I had been subscribing to it for many years, and the erroneous info, I don't remember what it related to, prompted me to end my subscription.

Civil liberties have not been suspended.
Right, you can't violate something that's been suspended. :D

Edit: There ought to be a joke about two cops knocking at your door like Jehovah's, "Do you have a minute to talk about civil liberties"?

Is this dissension in the ranks or will it be labeled sedition? We live in interesting times.

I'm not sure "the ranks" is an apt descriptor for provincial premiers, as they aren't answerable to the federal government. They may be a bit defensive since they and municipal authorities have demonstrated an inability and/or unwillingness to act decisively.

And, voicing disagreement hardly rises to the level of sedition.

Glad to hear that. I was referring more to how the media will possibly interpret it for headlines.

Exactly. Trudeau is very specific in his targetting of the protestors like seizing the trucks, freezing company assetts of those supplying the trucks in the convoy, freezing all accounts that the truckers are depending on, suspending licenses. This is hardly an act of suspending personal freedoms. Freedom is a responsibility and not only a God given right and personal freedoms stop when it infringes on another person's freedoms. As far as Im concerned, this whole convoy thing lost its purpose and meaning as soon as AHOLES flying the confederate flag, Trump Day and Swastika flags joined in. This petty movement has morphed into an absolutely useless anti establishment movement mostly due to these AHOLES.

Seriously, I have no life.
Actually, you are close. I am saying that once one beats the virus, their immunity is better than someone that was vaccinated. Of course that means you have to risk getting the virus…a risk that for most of us is pretty small. Getting a vaccine every 6 months is not a practical response, especially when the current vaccines are not very effective against Omicron. Not to mention we have no evidence that these vaccines are safe long term or with repeated use. As I said, get the shot or don’t. It is a personal choice that does not endanger anyone else.
Best immunity comes from being vaccinated before being infected & recovering because the infection won't be as severe.

Needing a vaccination every six months tells me that the vaccine may not be a full dose but if the higher dose is given, more people may have complications because this is still a relatively new virus. However, arguing that it doesn't endanger anyone if someone isn't vaccinated is wrong- if they carry the virus while infected, they DO shed it and you even posted this.

Please don't take this the wrong way, but Canadian mainstream media tend to use a bit less hyperbole in their reporting. Of course, plenty of melodramatic exceptions could be found, but I'm talking about overall reporting culture.

Not at all, I was referring more to the US or sometimes UK media's interpretation of events.

and the dominos start to fall ........

According to this article, some of Sloly's worse critics supported defunding the police and now there are a lack of resources. Maybe they can send some community service personnel to talk to the truckers? The community service angle hasn't worked out well in NYC since they don't have guns.
