Taken the plunge!

There are just too many good deals going on in the world of High Def players so I decided to jump on the deal bandwagon.

My X360 died and CCity sent me a $400 Gift Card. I will use this to replace my X360 with a PS3. This will give me 6 free Blu Rays, a player and a wifi gaming system for $400 (X360 can't touch that).

My wife also okayed the purchase of the Toshiba A3 at Best Buy. This will give me 10 free HD DVDs and a player for $220 shipped with taxes. Not a bad deal .

Not a bad start for $600, $400 of which i spent over a year ago on the X360 and have on the Gift Card.

Luckly this stuff will be replacing my upconverting SD DVD player and the X360 so I'll still have just enough inputs on the Onkyo 702.

The rest of the system is a Hitachi 50VF820, Onkyo 702, Polk XM player, RTi10 front, RTi6 rears and surround (7.1), and a Velodyne DPS12. All of this will be crammed into my half way done DHT room (14'x11') once it is completed (hopfully real soon).

Best Buy canceled my online order and upped the price of the A3 back to $300. I guess I'm not taking the plunge after all. It was worth it to me at $200, far from worth it at $300.

I'll still pick up the PS3 from a decent retailer, CCity. Screw the Best Buy punks. This was going to be my first purchase from them in years and years (maybe even a decade or more), and they blew it.

Thank you Best Buy for messing up my HD glory.

Unless I absolutely HAVE to have something today, I only order from Amazon anymore for movies, games, and certain A/V equipment (e.g. my PS3, my logitech remote)- these days they have better prices on certain things than OneCall or Crutchfield! And Amazon prime is clearly the best deal on the internet- $80 per year for free 2 day express shipping on ANY sized order. Another bonus- no tax... that adds up when buying a $500 playstation, especially considering I live in NYC.

I took your advice . Amazon has the player for $200 with 10 dvd's right now. 3 of my choices changed, and I'm not tooooo happy about the selection of freebies, but beggers can't be choosers . (maybe I can swap them at at BB and stick it to them heehhe.)

i <3 2007.

I bought the PS3 online at ccitys website during the tday sale which is a lot of the BF sale stuff. So now it is already sold out and any poor buggers waiting in line will miss out on it. I get to just walk up to the counter and grab my PS3. It comes with the movie and an extra six axis.

wooohoooo.

I can't wait to get all this stuff hooked up!

Oh, and it cost me $.68 after using the gift card i got from my 2 year old 360 biting it. can't beat that!

I wish I could have gotten a free exta controller, but I'm still happy either way, besides I have owned it for a few weeks now and still don't have any games for it, but I just signed up for gamefly so I should have one coming soon.

Cool looking foward to your opinion on the A3 im debating that or the A30. I need an HDDVD Player asap.
