Nostrand: If you are comfortable dropping 2K plus on a pair of speakers w/out hearing them, then do what you feel is right. I would no sooner buy a pair of speakers w/out listening to them then I would buy a car w/out driving the one that I was going to buy. We are not talking chump change and if you are a serious audio enthusiast then you will be spending a lot of hours pumping sound through these speakers. You should make sure that your room, your equipment, your ears all hear what everyone else says they hear. I had a guy tell me that he did not like B&Ws because they are too bright. Personally, I have never found that. But I am not wearing his ears and he is not in my family room. I do not know where you are located, but it would be worth finding a local dealer (if possible) and giving them a listen.
