SVS PB12-NSD or Energy S12.3?

I'm still saving up for my sub and thought I had decided on the PB12-NSD. Then I saw the Energy S12.3 which I can get locally and I was wondering how this sub compares to the PB12-NSD. Do they both perform the same or is there a big difference between the two?

The PB-12NSD is going to be louder, lower. I've heard the S12.3, and while a really good sub, it can't compete with the bigger box and better driver of the PB-12NSD.

Erm,

The PB-12NSD is 10dB louder at 20Hz. I said it will be louder, lower.

Agree, it is louder at 20hz.

But overall, the 12.3 has more output. Agreed?

The Energy S 12.3 is a nice sub. I would like to add that I did read a direct comparison to a hsu vtf 3. The S 12.3 was deeper and cleaner with better mid bass. This test wasn't a/b but rather done side by side and within equals room placements and the same equipment. So it come's down to what you really want, or how low do you want to go and what you can afford. I have equal RESPECT for both hsu and svs and thought I'd chime in:eek: .

Dear billy,

Something must have been amiss if you didn't find the VTF-3 Mk2 in extended bass mode to not play lower in comparison. Frequency response in room should be strong to 16-18Hz range in this mode, and this has been verified by every professional reviewer who has reviewed the product. In maximum output mode, mid-bass headroom should also be very good, as you can see by looking at the LFM-1 results in the 30-60Hz range. It's tough to say much more without knowing specific details about the room and the comparison.

Sincerely,

Hi Peter

I apologize. I was only trying to make a case for the energy sub been as good as the other two:). However, the information I stated was in fact the words used by the reveiwer in a review he was doing about the Energy Reference Connoisseur rc70 floors along with the s12.3 sub. I remembered this because those speaker are of high interest to me.
