Do you mean that food supplements such as vitamins, minerals and antioxidants which used to be available without sales tax are no longer covered?
In Quebec, those products if prescribed by a physician, are available tax free. Otherwise, you have to pay the sales tax even when importing from US, such as when I order from iHerb.
Overall, I spend over $1,000 yearly for nutritional supplements. I don't bother ordering through my family doctor. Most of the products that I use are superior to the ones available in local pharmacies. As you most likely know, physicians and pharmacies are controlled by big Pharma.
