This has been on the news here in Indiana with certain classes of grocery items now not covered by SNAP.

I'm scratching my head because the intent of SNAP is literally in the acronym.

Do you mean that food supplements such as vitamins, minerals and antioxidants which used to be available without sales tax are no longer covered?

In Quebec, those products if prescribed by a physician, are available tax free. Otherwise, you have to pay the sales tax even when importing from US, such as when I order from iHerb.

Overall, I spend over $1,000 yearly for nutritional supplements. I don't bother ordering through my family doctor. Most of the products that I use are superior to the ones available in local pharmacies. As you most likely know, physicians and pharmacies are controlled by big Pharma.
