I know this may sound harsh, but lose the cats?

We had one, and my Misses wouldn't get it declawed, and it ruined thousands of dollars of good furniture over the years before it finally died. Included in the destruction were the Speaker Grills from some classic JBL L36 Speakers. I'd like to find some matching material and get them re-done some day.

Just stick with the best affordable bookshelf speakers you can get, on metal stands, let the friggin cat ruin it's claws on the metal.
