I’ve tried samples before, and I think they’re useful, just not perfect.
They can give you a decent idea of brightness, color, texture, and ambient light performance, especially when comparing different materials side by side.
But things like hotspotting, uniformity, viewing angle, and the overall look on a 100"+ screen are harder to judge from a small A4 sample.
If you want a larger test area, you could also ask the seller to send several pieces of the material you’re interested in. Putting a few samples together gives you a much bigger area to test and can make the comparison more useful.
