Sb-1000 pro not loud enough

Hello I purchased a SB-1000pro to replace my polk audio psw505. From reviews I read I was expecting the SVS to be much louder but it isn't. I don't know if I should use the LFE on the subwoofer or disable it and use my receiver's crossovers like I did with my polk. I have tried both and the bass I'm getting is clear but it is not very loud. The wattage on the SVS is slightly higher than my polk so I was assuming the volume would also be louder.
It is my first day owning it and I definitely do not regret buying it but I wish it was louder.
Any helpful tips would be appreciated, I am also on the fence about upgrading it to a 2000 pro but will the 2000 be louder?
Fairly new to home audio and have learned a lot in the past month but I still have a lot to learn.

Can't speak directly to what you are experiencing sinse I am not there to hear it, however, good quality Low Frequency reproduction, free from distortion, is much more subtle.
What most people hear as "loud" in Bass is actually distortion.

That said, what is your AVR?

I would always recommend using the AVR room correction first with the Subwoofer settings neutral. Unless you are on 10 year old Audyssey or YPAO or something like that... ;) Then its a toss up.

Calibrate it and give it some time. Usually going from a one note sub to one that has range and clean bass, it might sound like it is doing less when it is actually just doing what it is supposed to. While I would expect the 1000 to have more output, it might still not be enough for the space you have it in.

I wouldn't have expected the SB-1000 Pro to have a large output advantage over the PW-505. It should be more linear overall, but probably not much louder. You should have upgraded to a ported subwoofer, not a small sealed sub.

Room size? Is the PSW a ported sub? Going with a sealed 12 in anything but a small room I could see struggling.

I'm not so sure the SB1000 would have much more output. Possibly even less. The PSW is a ported sub.

I like sealed, I like the tightness plus I'm in a dupes with a shared wall.

everyone take a drink (this is in reference to our un/official AH drinking game)

A well designed ported sub will be just as tight and musical as a well designed sealed sub. That's a very large room for a single sealed 12". If you're inclined to keep it, going near field may be your best bet. Otherwise I'd look into upgrading to at least PB 2000 pro

The reason I got sealed is I have a shared wall and don't want the walls rumbling. My polk has more than enough power and volume but it's old. I wanted something about equal in power and volume but the sb1000 pro is just so quiet. On paper the sb1000 pro outdoes my polk so I thought it would be louder than it is. I'm going to upgrade but now I'm not sure if I want to get the sb2000 pro or the pb1000 pro

I did room calibration on my onlyo tx-rz720. Then I adjusted the crossovers and stuff like I always do. I think the sub is performing just as it should I just thought it would be louder than it is

Ok I'm am planning on upgrading, because I live in a Duplex and don't want the walls shaking, I was thinking I will get the sb2000 pro but will the volume difference be noticeable?

It should be noticeable but not a huge upgrade. I think you will get maybe a 3dB increase in headroom if you are lucky.

Ok what about the pb 1000 pro? Will it be noticeable difference?

Down low, yes... PB 2000 Pro would be my minimum recommendation.
